Warmth flooded Adelaide's senses. It was a familiar comforting warmth, a warmth that she once basked in, sunlight.

Sunlight?

That couldn't be right

Her eyes fluttered open to hear soft muttering, muffled from beyond the walls of the room. She was greeted by a stone celling, an unfamiliar stone celling.

"We'll take her Nile,"

"She's a criminal from the underground Erwin, its dangerous to keep her. Let the military police take her, we can deal with her properly,"

There was a pause in the conversation. Adelaide listened, mind swirling, with a bated breath. The military.

"We need her, I need her. She's essential to progression of humanity."

A loud exasperated sigh filling the air before shuffling was heard.

"Go ahead Erwin, call me when you need her extracted, I guess."

"Thank you, Nile, I mean it."

The light clicking of boots against wood followed the ends of the conversation.

Adelaide was stunned. Mind still trying to grasp the situation, they were talking about her. What do they need her for?

Her bandages

Her gaze shifted back towards the man, eyes wide, fright apparent in her features.

"I am Erwin Smith, a squad leader from the Survey Corps. As a-"

Before the man - now known to Adelaide as Erwin – could finish the girl leaped up and slapped the man across his face.

Post slap; the two stared at each other in shock, both have yet to fully comprehend what had just happened.

But before more could be thought – or said – Adelaide grabbed Erwin by his shoulders and brought him down to her level, staring straight into his eyes, malice apparent in her eyes and aggression laced in her tone,

"You will speak nothing of my eyes, else you want to meet your end."

Erwin's mouth opened, words almost leaving him mouth, until he was roughly shaken again,
