PROLOGUE

Joes bar was a place where everyone went, whether it was to drink or find someone to take home that night. It was filled with dimly lit lights, music, greasy burgers and the most important thing, fun.

For Oliver, it was his first time ever going to Joes bar. He had no idea how the night was going to play out, he figured that maybe he would drink to calm his nerves, the ones he had for his first day of his internship tomorrow.

"You'll be okay, right? I don't have to stay by you the whole night?" Oliver's older brother, Atlas, said as he wrapped his arm around his younger brother shoulder, leading him into the bar.

Oliver nodded, already spotting a darts board where he could go and imagine someone's face - most likely his childhood enemy. "I'll be good, you go find a man to take home, okay?"

Atlas chuckled, "Out of everyone, you and mom are the two who want me to bring someone home."

It was true. Oliver and Lilla were definitely the two most persistent people when it came to Atlas's love life. They wanted to know so much, and sometimes Atlas would tell them, of course he left out anything too spicy.

"Hm," Oliver hummed. "I guess your right."

"Go buy a drink, I'm gonna go sit over there." Atlas pointed to a bar stool near a man sitting alone. "Come over if you need. Love you little bro."

Oliver gave his older brother a side hug before he started to move away, "Love you too."

Oliver was walking slowly, like he was trying to avoid going to the bar and ordering something. Well, he was. Sitting at the bar was someone who had caught his eye from the moment he had walked in with his brother.

"Is this seat taken?" Olly gestured to the empty bar stool beside the dirty blond woman.

"No, go ahead." She smiled back as she continued to pick at peanut shells.

Oliver didn't know it yet, he would soon. But he didn't know at the current time that he would leave with this woman.

"Tequila shots, please." Oliver called out to the bartender who got straight to work fixing up the shots.

The woman who sat beside him, sent him a glance. "Tequila shots?"

"Best way to a woman's heart." Oliver replied with a smirk, from any of his experience in a bar, the woman around him seemed to enjoy their tequila shots. And over time, he had learnt to like them too.

"Haha."

The two received their shots, and with a quick glance at each other, the two grabbed ahold of them and downed them without any other thought.

"I'm Oliver Lee." The man spoke with one of the brightest smiles the woman had ever seen, he looked so happy. And he was.

The two clasped hand in a handshake.

"Meredith Grey." Meredith said back, and Oliver took notice of the way her lips curled into a smile, and the way her nose scrunched up ever so slightly.

And then they took another shot. With giggly grins, the two swirled on their seats until they faced each other.

"What's your story?" Oliver asked quietly, despite the quietness, he was confident in what he had asked.

"I'm just a girl in a bar."

"And I'm just a guy in a bar, with really nice sunglasses."

And that was only the beginning.

Meredith Grey wakes up on her couch, or her mothers couch if we were being technical. She pulls a blanket off the man passed out on the floor, without the blanket he's left naked from his head to his toes. Meredith wraps the blanket around herself before she grabs a stray pillow and throws it at the unconscious man.

Oliver wakes up with a grunt, he lifts his head off his arms and looks around tiredly. His eyes stop wondering and land on a discarded bra, he picks it up. "Is this...?"

Meredith snatched the bra from his hands, she brings it close to her chest as she clutches onto it. "Humiliating on so many levels." She smiles. "You have to go."

Oliver sits up, grabbing one of the discarded pillows around him and placing it on his lap. "Why don't you just come back down here and we'll pick up where we left off?" Oliver suggested instead, even though he knew damn well that he could not be late for his first day.

Meredith shook her head. "No, seriously. You have to go, I need to get ready. I have my first day of work, and I have to be on time." She spoke as Oliver stood up and started to get dressed.

"I'm gonna go upstairs and take a shower, and when I get back down here, you won't be here, so, um, goodbye... um..." Meredith trailed off as she racked her brain trying to figure out the name of the half naked man standing in front of her.

"Oliver - but last night you really enjoyed calling me Olly." Oliver held out his hand for Meredith to shake.

Meredith reached out and shook his hand. "Oliver. Right. Meredith."

"Meredith." Oliver replied. "Nice meeting you."

Meredith scrambled to the staircase, "Bye, Oliver."
