Sapphire Eyes

We had been walking for hours, but eventually I had to take a break.
I stumbled over to a big chair-like boulder and collapsed against it.
Jexx kept walking not really paying attention to me.

" I-I need a break-.." I said breathlessly. My leg was blazing like somone had set the gauze on fire.
He stopped and looked at me with a slightly annoyed look. He whined and then pointed at the sun with his nose.

I waved my hand dismissively." Doesn't matter-.. With you around nothing would try attacking-.." I leaned my head back and closed my eyes.

I heard him huff in annoyance and walk back over to me. He poked me with his nose.
I opened my eyes and looked at him with a confused look.

He was laying down and staring at me like he was waiting for me to do something.
" What?-" I frowned.

He seemed to glare at me before jabbing his nose at me, and then jabbing it at his back impatiently.
Was he telling me to climb onto his back?

" Are you asking me to climb onto your back?-" I asked stupidly.
He snorted and then nodded his head vigorously before pointing his nose up to the sky again.

I blinked "I don't understand why your so worried about the dark-.." I wasn't going to ride him like he was some sort of horse.

He growled genuinely getting irritated with me and stood up and walked over to me again. He picked me up with his teeth gently and then set me down on his big fluffy back. I blinked, not fully comprehending what was happening as he started running in the direction we where heading.

His fur was as soft as I had expected it to be.
Like silk.
I found myself leaning forward, then before I knew it I was laying in-between his shoulder-blades dozing off.
He was so warm, so soft and comfortable that it was almost impossible for me to keep my eyes open. Especially considering all I've been through.

" Jexx-.." I whispered, my voice was slightly slurred with exhaustion.
I felt his big ear hit the top of my head lightly. It was as soft as velvet.
I knew he was listening.
" Why where you exiled?-" I wasn't sure why I was asking when he couldn't answer me back.
I guess I was just that out of it.

He huffed in response and his ears went back to their normal positions, listening to the noises of the ancient forest around us.

It had started really getting dark now. The sun had half passed behind the big snowy mountains creating the most beautiful sunset I had ever had the fortune to see.
The way it bounced off his fur was mesmerizing. Blue, purple, maroon, yellow, and green all danced along his fine soft hairs.
He, by far, had the prettiest coat I had ever seen.

I felt my eyes slid closed and everything went black.

My eyes slowly opened. I didn't bother looking around, I was surrounded by beautiful black fur.

The sun was just starting to filter through the pine trees branches, the birds were starting to sing their good-mornings, and the air was starting to warm up. Not that I could feel that though.
I was roasting. Jexx made a good portable heater.

I slowly sat up and pushed Jexxes huge tail off of me.
His eyes immediately popped open and he looked at me with a slightly worried expression. His brow furrowed and his ears started combing the nearby area for any sort of sign of danger.

I snorted." All I did was move your tail. Calm down." I shakily stood up and stretched.
My shirt road up my stomach showing off my lower torso.
For someone who has never worked out in their life, I was pretty fit, and had a nice figure.
