The first thing he noticed when he opened his eyes was that he had regained his senses, and in doing so, Evan realized that he was alone in a medical room inside the cabin. The lights were off, thankfully, and considering that he had also been internally incinerated by an Elder, he felt relatively healthy. His hearing was working fine; he could smell all the medicinal herbs used to help speed up his healing, his eyes shifted yellow without burning, and he could make out the small details of the room. The black wood was welcomingly familiar, and the furniture was minimalistic to maintain the simplicity of the room's aesthetic. He could hear the faint sound of monitors beeping, showing his vitals and whatnot. Tentatively he slowly sat up, looking down at his body to see that he was wearing black sweatpants and a white t-shirt. He expected to see an IV sticking out of his arm and surprisingly didn't find one, but then he remembered that he wouldn't have needed it. What he did have were circular tapped wires attached to his chest and a pulse oximeter on his pointer finger. Glancing at the machines, he leaned over to them, and though it took him a few minutes he managed to switch them off before removing all the wires and electronics from his body.

Gingerly he stood from the surprisingly large bed and was pleased that he wasn't dizzy or nauseous. It was as if the damage Celastria had done to him hadn't happened. For a moment, he thought he had imagined the entire encounter with the Elders, but the memory was too vividly painful for it to have been considered a dream or illusion. There were no windows in the room so he couldn't tell what time of day it was and his phone was nowhere to be seen, not that he was surprised by that. Evan was continuously cautious as he tested the progress of the recovery and found himself impressed by the way he was able to use his senses without any pain or discomfort.

Satisfied with his assessment, he made his way towards the door and opened it to discover a couple of things. The medical room was soundproof, and that had been the reason why Evan hadn't been able to hear what the habitants of the cabin were doing. The Alexaviers were in utter chaos as they piled luggage near the entrance, almost blocking the door, shouting at each other as they attempted to find missing belongings and whatnot. None of them noticed Evan, who stepped into the hallway softly closing the door behind him as he stayed near the shadows in fear of getting trampled. Evan stood there, pressed against the wall for several minutes, rapidly blinking as he tried to pinpoint the reason for the anarchy. Luckily enough, it didn't take long for him to find out that the entire Alexavier clan (including the ones who hadn't shown up) were all going to meet up at the manor to spend the holidays together. Apparently, Christmas was only less than four days away, which meant Evan had been unconscious for almost a week. Unsurprising considering the condition his body was in.
