The sunshine left her behind,
In the darkness to fend for herself,
But the moon paid her no mind,
And the stars still continued to shine,She forgot that the moon would soon leave,
And that the sun would someday return,
So she turned her back on everyone,
And she closed her eyes and started to run,She couldn't see the danger,
That lurked behind the shadows,
For her conscience was but a stranger,
And her sense hung from the gallows,She imagined a perfect life in her head,
And her tears lit up her path,
And now she could see what what lay ahead,
And she started to laugh a joyful laugh,For just beyond the tree line,
She could see an orange sky,
And suddenly the girl felt fine,
Because she could finally see through the lies,She had told herself it'd always be dark,
And that she should just cut all her ties,
But now she could finally make a mark,
For now she could see the sunrise.
