I'm worth something, that is, until I'm not.
You see, I've learned that my opinion is only relevant if it reflects well on you.
You tell me to be good to everyone,
To express my opinion,
To be truthful,
Trustful,
But as soon as I open my mouth,
And my opinion comes out,
I'm worthless.
I'm told I should just forget how to speak,
That I don't have an opinion and even if I did it wouldn't matter to you,
So thanks, my dearest mother and father,
Who will love me eternally and unconditionally,
As long as I keep my mouth shut and my mind closed off.
As long as I have the same mind as you.
The same values,
The same religion.
I am my own person, I shouldn't just copy my friends,
I should copy my parents instead.
Because what's an opinion worth when it's different to your own?
