"My heart is pierced by Cupid; I disdain all glittering gold." A young girl sang out into the distance as she stood at the back of the ship looking at the never ending sea.

"There is nothing can console me." Her father joined in as he walked up beside her. "But my jolly sailor bold." They finished together as both of them gazed into the dawn.

The girl took her dad's compass and the needle spun toward the horizon.

And soon a bell chimed. As she turned, Port Royal was coming back into view. She hated this part of the secret voyage her father would take her on.

She never knew why they were secret but she didn't mind.

Her Father walked her over to the edge of the ship where she would get in the long boat and be rowed back to shore. "Why must you go father? Can't I come; you always said I was good at sea."

"Delia." He paused, coming down to her level. "You know I must, you are amazing at sea my sweet. But I must venture alone. It is far too dangerous for you."

"Bu-"

"No Buts." He said firmly. "Here I need you to have this." He pulled out a play-card.

"A play card?" She looked back and forth between the card and my father's face.

"Not just a play card." He also pulled out his dagger and gave them to her. "This is very important. You must promise me nothing is to happen to them. Keep it on you at all times."

Delia nodded slowly, still unsure why it was so important to him.

He put me into a tight hug. "If you ever need me. Look at the card and I will be there. And use the dagger for protection. I love you Delia."

She was unsure why she would need protection, but she didn't question it. "I love you too." He lifted his daughter into the long boat and her gaze never left his. She was rowed back to shore as the sun started to rise. So that no one would see her.

Once she was back to land. She sat on the sand as she always did watching her fathers ship disappearing into the distance.

And was taken back to her home, back to her mother.

Little did the young girl realise that would be the last time she ever saw her father.

The next year after her dad's death was confirmed she would integrate any sailor that came into Port Royal, trying to discover more about his past, as her memoirs of him were slowly fading away.

Final after trying to get information for over a year. She reached a merchant who knew her father and told her everything he knew.

She was shocked to learn that her father wasn't the man she thought he was. He was a Pirate. She never found out how he died exactly though. Just that it was a sea. She was somewhat relieved however because deep down she was terrified of knowing what happened to the father whom she loved so dearly.

After knowing this she promised herself she would learn everything she could about Piracy. Of course in secret because Piracy was considered the biggest felony and anyone who did any of piracy or engaged in it would be hanged to death.

Delia grows into a fine young lady and a smart one at that.

Her younger years were filled with trying to escape port royal on a merchant ship only to be brought back everything by marines. She met a boy named Will though, who taught her how to sword fight. He was quite a bit younger than her, she loved him almost like a little brother.

She was now 22 and was still searching for a way to get off this island and venture out into the ocean just like her father did many years ago.

No one understood, but she didn't protest. Because she knew that one day it would happen. One day she would be free.
