Monday, 8:00 AM.

Selin finally switched off her alarm, to which she'd been dancing to in her dreams, for the last 20 minutes. Yawning and stretching her body till her head hit the headboard, she finally opened her eyes. It was 8 AM already, and she was running late for the meeting with A.J Architecture. This reality hit her harder than she had hit her head against the headboard, and she sprang out of bed immediately.

Brushing her teeth and toasting two slices of bread, she dashed across the kitchen, with thoughts of being fired by Mr. Brown clouding her mind.
"Way to go girl! 5 months into your job and you're already getting fired! He'll already be at the conference hall.. Standing tall and waiting to stare into your soul..
How about D.J ing my way to money after getting fired?... That's perfect! I wouldn't have to ever see Mr. Brown again!..."
She'd been standing in front of her fridge, tooth brush in one hand, butter in the other. That's when her thoughts got interrupted by the undeniable smell of burnt toast. ( so much for trying to multitask. *facepalms.) Coming back to her senses, she rushed towards the toaster, forgetting to close the fridge and stubbing her toe against the table on the way.
"What a way to start the day", she said out loud, holding on to her dear toe. Nevertheless, she gobbled up her toast, took a shower, got ready and set out for her day.

Magical time skip, 8:46 AM

Looking up at the huge glass building shining in the sun, she gulped, her throat drying at the thought of Mr. Brown's reaction to her being late for the meeting. Checking her watch one last time, she decided to finally walk into the building. As soon as AC's cool breeze hit ger face, she felt herself being carried away by a pair of strong hands.
" Where WERE you?! Do you even know what the time is?", the person spoke in a flurried tone, while stuffing the two bodies into a jam- packed elevator. Oh, by the way, the pair of hands belonged to her friend, Alice. (Buff and strong, she carried Selin away like she were an apple.) Selin looked at her, her face dripping with anxiety. "Don't you give me those puppy eyes right now. Poor Mr. Brown's been talking about donut-shaped buildings to somehow extend the meeting. Just pray that the contract with A.J doesn't get cancelled...", Alice spoke, her expression becoming more tense.

The elevator dinged, indicating that they had reached the twelfth floor, where the conference room was. Selin's grip on the documents in her hands tightened, as she opened the door to the room.

And there he was, standing tall and ready to stare into her soul, in real life this time. She scanned the room slowly, only to see no one around.

" Oh no...", she whispered under her breath, before finally looking into the old man's eyes.
