"What did you say?" MieMie asked. Mom and Dad looked at each other.

"Mom, I think we should tell her?" I said. We all got up an went to the temple of Sun-Yee. There Mom went behind the tapestry to a hidden compartment; where she pulled out a box with a scroll in it.

"As you know, our ancestor Sun-Yee had a mystical connection with red Pandas."  Mom started. "In fact she loved them so much that she asked the gods to turn her into one." Mom pulled open the scroll to explain everything.

"It was war time. All the men were gone. Sun-Yee was desperate for a way to protect herself and her daughters. Then one night on a red moon, the god's granted her wish. They gave her the power to harness her emotions to turn into a powerful mystical beast. She was able to fend off bandits , protect her village and save her village. And passed her gift on to her daughters. But our family decided to come to a new world. And what was a blessing became an.... inconvenience."

Mom was done explaining. MieMie just looked shocked; while I just stood there. 'I've heard all this before...'. MieMie looked to Sun-Yee tapestry.

"Are you... KIDDING ME!" MieMie eyes flared. She went attack the tapestry but Mom, Dad, and I stopped her. "This all her fault!"

"She meant it as a blessing!" Mom shouted.

"There's a cure MieMie!" I yelled.

"Really how do you know?" MieMie asked.

"Because it happened to Me and Daiyu." Mom said.

"Why didn't you guys warn me?" MieMie seems broken.

"I thought I had more time! You're just a child, I thought if I watched your like a hawk. I'd see the signs and be able to prepare." Mom expained.

"It's fine MieMie" I said.

"I over came, so did Daiyu, and so shall you." Mom comforted her. "On the next red moon a ritual will be preformed that will seal your red panda spirit into one of these. For good."

"MieMie any strong emotion will release the Panda, and the more you release it the more difficult the ritual will be." I said stroking her fluffy back.

"There is a darkness to the panda MieMie. You only have one chance to banish the panda; you cannot fail. " Mom said. "Or else you'll never be free." MieMie looked saddened.

"Let's see the next red moon is the twenty-fifth." Dad looked at the calendar.

"The tenty-fifth! That's a whole month away..." MieMIe cried.

"We'll wait it out together." I said.

"And I'll be with you every step of the way." Mom said.

Later that night...

We cleared out MieMie's room. Nothing on the walls, no desk, no nothing. We were currently pulling her mattress into her room placing it in the middle of the room.

"Not bad." Dad said.

"I saved Willfred." I said pulling out her favorite dog plushie.

"Thanks Daiyu." She said pulling off her glasses to put away.

"It's only temporary MieMie. This way we won't worry about anyone accidents." Mom said. Mom kissed her goodnight. She left the room while Dad and I stayed.

"Red is a lucky color." Dad smiled. Then we both left.

"Night MieMie." I whispered out for her to hear. Once out Mom starts talking.

"This is awful. What are we going to do." Mom worried.

"Don't worry. We'll get through this." Dad said.
