The wind blew gentle kisses on my face, as I wandered down the beach. The sand was warm on the soles of my feet, the sand getting between my toes. I was starting to enjoy my stroll, when a servant once again came to take me back to the huge house placed in the middle of the island, it was supposed to be home to me but it was more of a prison. "Tania! Tania! Tania!", I turned to see a servant running up the beach towards me, she was rather young and was quite pretty. she walked up to me,"you look a mess you can't meet you parents like that", I sighed, my parents were so annoying, I was barely allowed out for a day. I looked over the horizon, I wished I could just escape but where would i go? at least I can rebel till dinner. "not today, tell my parents I will be back for dinner", I shouted to the servant as I ran up the beach heading away further and further away, the servant didn't even try she knew I had no interest in being my parents good obedient child, I am 18 and I no longer a child.

I waited till the servant was well out of site, then I ran along the wooden pier and when I reached the end dived straight into the clear pure water. I few minuets later my long legs transformed in to a long gleaming aqua tail. I had been a mermaid since i was 8 years old, i never realised i had the power, now every day all i wanted to do was swim. It all happened one day when i was exploring and i went to swim so I dived into the sea, while I was swimming I imagined what it would be like to have a tail to swim in the sea and some how I got one, it only happens when I want to have a tail though. I swam down to the coal reef spying around through the small holes in the coral. I knew she would come soon, sure enough a few minuets later I saw a tail swish past me and I turned around to see Sirena she was my pet Huppocampus, she is a water horse with a tail like mine and instead of front hooves she has fins, we meet when she saved me from drowning before I had my power. I was walking alon the pier and balancing on the edge, then I slipped and fell in the water, there was a current pulling me down, my mouth was filling with water not air, it was horrible, just when I thought I was going to die, I felt something grab hold of me and I grabbed its fin and pulled me out of the current it was Sirena. she saved my life and from then on we were bonded.

I stroked Sirena down the neck, "come on girl lets ride", I jumped on the back and we speeded of. She was fast at swimming, she could dodge through the corals faster than any fish, she wasn't a creature you come across every day.
I loved having a tail, being able to glide in the water and hold my breathe for well over 2 hours. My tail gleamed in the suns rays, each scale sparkling like diamonds. time was passing and I would need to get back soon.
I swam to the surface to watch the sun set, I watched till the very last ray was gone. Then I turned and swam for shore.
