Mystic Hunters

Chapter 2

I walked up to the back door of my parents huge mansion, I opened the worn out wooden door, it made a loud creek as I pushed it open, the hinges were also worn out. I sneaked through the kitchen, normal buzzing with servants preparing meals, I think they are all serving the food, I was late.
I ran through the kitchen and into the main entrance hall, the huge lavishing stairs, like the one in kings and queens houses, my parents liked to think they were royalty but they were no where near it. I bolted up the stairs and ran down the corridor trying not to be seen, cause I know if I was I would be scolded for running and for being late.
I ran in slammed my door closed and rummaged through my wardrobe to find something "suitable" as my mother would say. I found a beautiful white gown with pearls embroided all over it, the neck line to was lined in pure white pearls, perfect I thought.

I walked into the dinning room my parents were both so far away from each other for the table was the length of the room, I practically had to shout good evening to them both. "Tania I don't think it's appropriate that you were out all day with no notice", my mother scolded. "you also disobeyed us and.....", my father was interrupted by a loud knock at the door. "who could it be at this time of night?....", I heard my father mutter under his breath as he got up and headed for the door. My father opened the door and in came two guards and they rushed to me and grabbed both my arms, I tried to resist but they were a lot stronger than me. they were tall broad strong men dressed in complete black with chain mail on? who would need chain mail in this country?
Then another man entered he wore the same black clothes but with a huge back cape the buckles were gold and the embroided detail was beautiful he was the person the guards must be guarding then. A chill went down my spine, what was going to happen to me? will I be taken?
"we need to test your daughter to see if she is the last worthy one", the man spoke. "you will not take our daughter away!", my father said angrily. "I never said we would take her.........we will take her if she passes", he spoke whilst walking towards me. "come", he said, "wait! what test?", I said quickly before I was shoved out of the door. "to see if your worthy of a Mystic Hunter", he didn't say another word the rest of the way to where I would be tested.

We had been walking for what seamed like the whole night, the stars were up and so was the moon, it's silver light was the only thing that let us see our way. My legs ached, then I started to think what if I pass the test? where will they take me? will they find out I'm a mermaid? will they want to test on me and dissect me? the thought made me gulp hard, I don't want to be sushi.
Then through the trees I could see a huge tent, it was completely black and if i wasn't being guided I wouldn't of spotted it among the trees. "where are we?", I asked, no reply, i asked again but still no reply so u stayed silent.
We walked to the front of the tent and the man opened the tent doors, "ladies first", said the man as he pushes me in. At first I thought it was day time because the top of the tent or what was supposed to be the top was beaming with light, then I realised they must have used a light spell or chant or something like that, I wasn't really used to seeing any magic people, I have read about them in books and the fact that Zeus has some who work for him, but I have never heard of mystic hunters.
I turned to scan the room and my eyes fell on a young man a bit older than me, he had dark blonde hair and dark blue eyes, he wore a hunting suit with bare arms and a sword strapped to his back. He to was looking at me his eyes scanning my body, I didn't know how I was looking after a long hike through the forest with a dining dress on but I guess I couldn't help it. I looked around realising that there were not very many people here only the blonde good looking man and the supposed leader in black robes who came to take me away the rest were just servants or soldiers.
The leader walked up to the blonde man and started to talk to him, it was really awkward because during their talk the would keep glancing over at me and staring for what seemed like ages then they both approached me. "We will test you now", said the leader. I was once again grabbed and guided into another room there was a huge glass tank, I looked at it and gasped, I tried to hold my nervousness back, the last thing I wanted to seam was scared. They lead me into the tank and pushed me through a door at the side then they sealed it shut, then water started to fill up around my feet and I looked out the glass in horror and knew that I would have no choice but to show them if I didn't want to drown.

The water was moving fast around my waist I started to bang on the glass "let me out! I will drown!", I screamed but nether of them even flinched, then next thing I knew the water was around my neck and I had to start to swim but I would soon tier.
I was so worried as my face was pressed p against the tip of the tank and the water nearly at the top, then I saw the leader turn to the hunter and say "now, do it!", he reacted straight away, he raised his hand and I force came over me, I was covered in water now and I felt something weird like when i want to become a mermaid I can but this force was denying that choice, then I felt like I wasn't controlling my own body and my mermaid tail started to be reviled.

there I was in my mermaid forum looking out of the tank into the eyes of the two viewers, "the last one!" the leader gasped. "she's beautiful.....", I gunk I heard the hunter say. the water started to disappear and before I knew it had all been drained the power over me had faded and I was able to revert back to my human forum. The tank door was opened and I walked over to the leader and hunter.
"welcome, my name is Klin and I'm the leader of this group and this here is Percy, and you are now a Mystic Hunter".
