I t's raining Women! Hallelujah! It's raining Women. Every specimen.
Tiny, red-haired, dark, and lean
Rough and tough and strong and mean
Like every evening, Marta came home from work, ate something, changed her clothes and got her dogs ready for the evening walk. This evening, she was so exhausted from work that she decided to take a short walk through the cemetery.
This always sounded unusual to some, but it was more like a park with dead people than a cemetery.
All the inhabitants of the village who had a dog walked there. It was quiet, no one disturbed you, and somehow it was quite idyllic.
Marta and her dogs had not gone far when suddenly a bright red flash lit up the sky, something rushed out of the clouds towards the forest and crashed to the ground with a heavy bang.
Marta, as befits a good German citizen and curious person, made her way into the forest. At best, it was a comet, at worst an alien that wanted to eat her, but the good thing was that she did not have to go to work.
There was a large crater gaping in the earth from which white, thick smoke was rising.
She stopped and considered whether it was wise to go any closer, but she was too curious.
When she got close enough to the hole, she realized what was in front of her.
What had fallen from the sky was not a comet, not an alien, not a satellite?
It was a woman in a black full-body suit with red hair.
Marta chuckled softly. "It's Raining Women. "Hallelujah."
She ordered her dogs to lie down and wait until she returned, then she climbed down into the hole.
Not exactly her smartest idea, but it did not matter any more.
The woman's breaths were shallow and even. Marta gently shook the unconscious woman's shoulder.
No reaction.
She shook harder—again no response.
Gently and carefully, Marta turned the woman onto her back.
"OH MY GOD!!! You have got to be kidding." She paused, "She is dead. We have all heard about it. She died for the stone. This is the black widow? She gasped.
Marta backed away from Natasha. This could not be.
She was dead, and she should be, not only after what had happened on Vormir, no, she should not have survived the fall either.
Nervously, Marta paced back and forth in the hole, muttering to herself.
"What am I going to do with her now? I cannot leave her here.
They would do experiments on her or lock her up somewhere. She should not be here at all. She should be dead. Okay, Marta, there's no point in you mentioning fourteen more times that she should be dead."
This situation completely overwhelmed Marta.
She had just wanted to walk the dogs and then relax for the evening, and now?
