Half an hour later, Jinyoung parked his car in the underground parking of the condo building when he heard footsteps behind him. He looked back and saw a figure, all in black, and made him walk faster. The footsteps went faster too. Jinyoung hurriedly pressed the elevator and was relieved when he got inside until he heard, "Hold the door!" and he quickly pressed the door close button instead.
Jinyoung got out at the lobby to check his mail. As he was approaching the mailroom he heard the guard ask someone, "Are you ok, sir?"
A man panting replied, "Yeah, I'm good. Some asshole didn't hold the elevator door for me from the basement parking lot so I took the stairs to get here and hoped to catch the elevator but I guess I wasn't fast enough." the man chuckled.
Asshole? He better not talk about me? Jinyoung whipped his head so fast from where he was standing and widened his eyes when he saw who was the person calling him an asshole. Jackson?!? He partially hid himself in the mailroom to see what Jackson was doing in his building. He wondered how the guard seemed to know him. He was annoyed that he couldn't hear their conversation clearly.
"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that, Jackson-ssi. I'm also new here so I have no idea what the tenants are like...I only met a few and they seemed nice." Minho said.
"All good, Minho-ssi. I myself barely know my neighbors on the same floor, let alone everyone who lives here." Jackson smiled at the security guard. "By the way, I got a phone call earlier that I have a package here? Aera wasn't home when someone tried to deliver it earlier since my son was at my cousin's tonight."
"Ah yeah, Jackson-ssi. Let me get it for you." Minho went to the front desk and took a big box underneath his desk. "Here you go, sir. It looked like it came from Hong Kong."
Jackson smiled and patted the security's shoulder, "Yep, it's from my parents. Thanks, Minho-ssi and have a good night."
Jinyoung saw that Minho handed Jackson a box and he rapidly walked towards Jackson and asked, "What are you doing here? Are you following me?"
A surprised Jackson looked back at him, "Jinyoung?!? What are you talking about? First you think I'm a pervert now you're accusing me of being a stalker? With all due respect, jinyoung-ssi, I know you don't like me but accusing me of being a stalker is too much don't you think?" Jackson sounded hurt. "And fyi, I am not following you. I live here...if you don't believe me? Ask him." Jackson pointed at the security guard.
Minho, the security guard for the night, replied, "Yes, Jackson-ssi lives here, Jinyoung-ssi."
Jinyoung was embarrassed because of his little outburst that he just ignored the two and walked past them. He quickly pressed the elevator button which he wished and prayed that Jackson wouldn't follow him.
To his dismay, Jackson entered the same elevator as him. It was too quiet until Jackson spoke, "Listen, I barely see you and yet, you still seemed to hate my guts. I get it. You don't like me, so be it but accusing me of things that I am not is -" Jackson paused, "Never mind but you know....I think you owe me an apology."
Jinyoung was too embarrassed to open his mouth. He knew he was wrong but he couldn't seem to get himself to apologize. Jackson waited until he said, "You know what? It's fine." The elevator door reached Jackson's floor and once the door opened, Jackson walked out and said, "Have a good night, Jinyoung-ssi."
--------
A few weeks later, Jinyoung tried his best to not bump into Jackson in the lobby or at the G7 building. He stopped thinking about him after the incident in the lobby a few weeks ago. He stopped feeling guilty since he convinced himself that he despised the man so much that he didn't need to talk or see him.
