CHAPTER 17: Nice Working With U.

Jinyoung still couldn't believe how cool Jackson was about him being mistakenly identified as Jinyoung's boyfriend. He thought Jackson would feel awkward while eating, instead, he interacted with the owners of the eatery they went to that night and played his part to the T. It made Jinyoung's heart flutter. He couldn't stop his heart from fluttering even after almost a week since they went to that eatery.

Today was the last day for them to work on the song, they were on the finish line as Jackson called it. Jinyoung was surprised that he wasn't disappointed at all, maybe because he knew he would still see Jackson after this. Parent-Student Weekend Camping in two weeks, baby! Besides, they're also neighbors per se. All he needed to do was for him to tell Jackson the truth.

"Jinyoung, I think this version is good....what ya think?" Jackson asked but no reply from the person sitting beside him. Jackson sighed and snapped his finger to get Jinyoung from his trance.

Jinyoung blinked and finally turned to face Jackson, "Huh?" Jackson laughed. "I'm sorry I made you stay this long...and you still have a class tomorrow."

"Oh, no...no...I am not tired, my mind was just preoccupied. I'm sorry....what were you saying earlier?"

"Oh if you're happy with this version."

"Yes, I think it's great...how about you?"

"Yeah, I am happy with this one...." Jackson stretched from his chair and took a deep breath, "So, I guess, it's a wrap for us. It was nice working with you, Jinyoung-ah." Jackson offered his hand out for Jinyoung to shake.

Jinyoung hesitantly shook Jackson's hand, "I guess, this is it? I'll see you around?"

"Yeah...see you around."

Jinyoung got up from where he was sitting and grabbed his bag. He dragged his feet slowly, contemplating if he should ask Jackson out for a coffee so he could tell him the truth. His heart was beating so fast that he didn't hear Jackson get up from his chair and walked toward him.

"Want to grab a celebratory supper at your favorite eatery?"

Jinyoung folded his lips between his mouth to stop himself from grinning widely. He slowly turned towards Jackson, "Let's go?"

They walked out of the studio and got inside the elevator when someone shouted. "Hold that door!" Jackson immediately held the door open, and Youngjae and Jimin went inside.

"Oppa! Are you two done?"

Jinyoung scrunched up his nose while he smiled at Jimin, "Yes" then moved close to his friend and whispered, "your timing is amazing."

"Great to hear, I'm done with my recording, too. Jimin and I were about to go to dinner, you two should join us." Youngjae said.

Jackson smiled and was about to decline when Jimin said, "Ah, Jae oppa, I think they had a previous plan."

"Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't know you already had a planned date."

"No...no...it's not a date, we were just going to -" Jinyoung was interrupted when Jackson's phone rang. Boss JayB.

"Yes, boss. Ah, Jinyoung? He's with me and so does Youngjae. Why?" Jackson nodded as if Jaebeom could see him. "OK, then, we'll meet you there."

All eyes were on him after he hung up, "That was Jaebeom. He said to meet him at our usual sushi place...so, I guess, all the dates got trampled when the boss wanted us to join him for supper." He laughed, which made Jinyoung roll his eyes discreetly. I will strangle you later, Im Jaebeom. There goes my plan of telling him the truth.
