"Ay anak ng tipaklong!" Napahawak ako sa dibdib ko nang makita ko si Johnny. He was wearing a black dior t-shirt tucked in his black trousers, with his wrist watch on his hand ang shades on his chest. Mahuhulog na sana cellphone ko, but luckily nakuha niya agad.

"Pumunta talaga siya putangina." I whispered.

"Malamang, tinawagan ako ng nanay mo." He replied, handing my phone back, opened the door of the passenger seat and gestured for me to get in.

"Whatever." Inirapan ko siya at tuluyan nang pumasok sa loob ng sasakyan.

"Saang mall mo gusto?" He asked as he turned on the engine.

"Kahit saan mo gusto."

"I asked you. You decide, miss." He leaned back into more of a comfortable position and faced at me.

I just rolled my eyes in annoyance. Ito ba yung tinituro ng eskwelahan niya? Pagiging pilosopo? Argh! I can't stand him!

"Ayos mo, no? Edi sa U.P Town Center nalang tayo." I said in a cold tone.

He sighed and drove off. Lumingon nalang ako sa bintana at humintay hanggang umabot na kami sa U.P Town Center.

The ride was long since it was traffic here in Katipunan. I couldn't help myself but to think about the engagement again. Ano ba yung mga rason niya at bakit siya sumang-ayon na ikasal kami?

I turned my body to look at him. Napansin niya ito, kaya simple niya akong tiningnan.

"What?" He asked.

"Why did you agree to marry me, Johnny?" I asked out of blue. It took him awhile to answer it kaya tuloy iniwasan ko tingin niya! Sana 'di ko nalang tinanong. Pero I want to know eh!

"Sinabi ko na yung rason sayo." He responded, still eyes on the road.

"That's not the reason that i'm looking for, Johnny."

He sighed again. "I agreed to dad kasi ayoko na mawala si mama. Days before my birthday party, he told me if I don't marry the daughter of his business partner-which is you," He paused, looking at me.

"Hindi na siya papayag na makipag-kita ako kay mom. And for the company shares. I'll loose all of them if I don't marry you." He responded at binalin ulit ang kanyang mga mata sa harap.

Woah. If I was him, I'd do the same too. Maybe Johnny was very much close to his mom kahit sa dad niya siya nakatira. Mommy's boy pala 'to.

"You?"

I laughed when I remember what mama and papa told me through the phone while I was crying.

"Sabi ni mama, it's for the best. For my future." I laughed.

His brows furrowed. "Really? 'yon lang?" He scoffed.

I rolled my eyes at him. "Si papa...pinilit niya rin ako. I remember, kakauwi ko lang mula sa party mo noon. Nagmakaawa ako sakaniya. But he only said na 'it's for the security of the company' or mga palusot niya." I replied.

He only nodded his head. I can see the anger in his eyes. The both of us didn't have a choice. Dahil for us, our mom and dad are always right.

The car was filled again with silence. Kaya, I decided to check my phone to make it less more awkward.

"do you have a girlfriend?" I curiously asked again. Halata ko sakaniya na medyo naiirita na siya sa mga tanong. Pwes, wala siyang magagawa!

"No. I do not have time for that." He said in a monotone.

I looked at him in a weird face. Sure ba 'to? kahit fling man lang? boring naman pala nito eh. Pilosopo pa! mga uto-uto na babae nalang siguro ang ma-fafall sakaniya kung ganon.

"You?"

I flipped my hair and tucked my hair behind my ears. "Meron. Crush." Malandi 'kong pag-sabi. Natawa naman ito.

"And who is that?" He giggled while asking.

Lord, ang cute ng tawa niya.

"Secret no clue. Chariz! wala. Too busy for a love life." I crossed my arms over my chest and leaned back.

When it turned red light, he faced his face to me. "What should I call you?"

"Alexa. or Lex. that's my nickname" I replied and smiled at him. He only nodded his head and continued driving.

I really hope we'll get along. Sana nga maging kaibigan kami kahit ikakasal na kami. As I said sa mga kaibigan ko, it's gonna be harder for us if ipagpatuloy namin na hindi maging close to each other.
