"FUCK" he fell to the floor, coughing violently. harry had  spat up blood an hour ago and still decided to keep going. he rubbed his eyes, got up and started walking towards the first hurdle for the what felt like the millionth time today.

his feet started moving faster and faster. the gears in his mind slowing down. all he could think of was getting over the hurdles, that's was pleased him. getting over the herdles as fast as he can. maybe it was a metaphor but harry didn't know what for, all he knew was all his thoughts fade away as he runs. his body takes and over let's his mind float away.

his feet hit the wet, muddy ground. he looked down at the stopwatches around his neck "nine-"

"o'four"

harry stopped breathing for a moment. he closed his eyes, shaking his head of the voice. he isn't here, he isn't here, he isn't here. slowly he opened his eyes and looked around him. there, up on the small hill stood the one person he never wanted to see again but needed to see just to keep going.

his wasn't so far from the figure to not be able to see him but the details on his face were to a minimum. he stood wearing his own green adidas hoodie, black —slightly baggy- ripped jeans and a black beanie with his signature black and white vans.

"still can't get it eh?" louis asked, walking down the small hill over towards harry "you'll get it one day, just don't be too hard on yourself" louis was within ten feet of him as he tried to catch his breath.

"how'd you find me?" he panted, throwing water atop his curls. the other shrugged, hands in his pocket, hair hidden by the beanie "you're always here when something's wrong"

bullshit.

"no harry it's not"

"what?" the younger one was confused. he didn't say that out loud , did he? no he's already said four words today. he's trained himself to do that. specifically those words are marlboro red, king. thanks. those four words every week is all he's known since he'd last seen louis.

"it's not bullshit" louis took a few steps close. harry closed the lid to his water bottle, tosing the plastic to the ground "and don't say that you're never here because whether that's true or no-"

here we go.

"you're wrong"

six words. that's almost double.

louis smiled and shook his head "you go out for runs when you are about to have an attack. you only come here and try beat your record because you want to know that you're worth something"

what the

"fuck? yeah i know. but i'm right aren't? by getting even a nine point o'two you'll know you're better than whoever you were just months ago. you'll finally put to rest the whole 'i can do better' mentality for a few months until someone whether it's coach or someone else times you"

harry stood, breathing heavily yet slowly. his curls dripped of water and sweat. his knees all muddy from the ground as it had rained the night prior. grass stains covered his white shorts and his black shirt had sweat stains on it. harry looks awful compared to louis.
