Once again I have disappear for a long ass time. To be honest, I had some trouble writing so I took a break but the moment I did, I suddenly became an aunt...
So yes, my disappearance was because of my cute baby niece. I have also been helping my older cousin as she is still healing but is doing well so far.
I thank everyone who has stuck with this story, because in all honesty I didn't think it will go for this long._____
Warm
Everything about this house was so warm, so unlike his own home. Takeru shifts, his eyes glancing at everything with excitement. A warm cup of milk had been set for his nephew by the blonde boy. Miya Atsumu, Tobio's boyfriend. When Tooru had knocked on the door, he had expected Tobio or Kita to answer the door. Instead, it was Miya who had done so.
The boy had smiled and welcomed them in. He had explained that Kita was out with his boyfriend and that Tobio was asleep as the raven head was tired from the trip. Tooru only nodded in response. The shaking in his hands hadn't stopped, neither did the beat of his heart. To think that Tobio was so close, yet so far. For the last few minutes he had been thinking about what to say to the blue eyed boy. Yet nothing came to mind.
Miya had gone back to the kitchen, the sound of water running could be heard softly. Maybe, when he got enough money he could move here. It was quiet and the people were nice from what he had seen. It was the perfect place to be in if he didn't want his family finding him.
Takeru finished his last drop of milk before laying on the couch. At the same time, Miya came out of the kitchen with a towel, drying his hands. "When are we going back home?" His nephew asked.
"I'm not sure...until mom figures out what to do." More like hoping she would realize that Hanami is a criminal. Takeru huffs, which only earns an amused look from Miya. "So I never got to ask but, what made ya decide to come here?"
Tooru looks away, shame eating him from the inside. Miya doesn't comment and simply takes a seat next to him. "...Family issues and...I guess my recklessness." He chuckles. "I had nowhere to go and the only place that came to mind was here."
"Ah, I get it. My dad has never been in my life. Or more like I refuse to have him in my life." The blond leans back, a far away look I'm his eye. Miya didn't offer any more explanation and Tooru didn't ask. He was well informed of what a shity father was. He hadn't seen his own in years. He never bothered asking his mother either.
Miya glanced up before sitting up straight. "Hey kid, wanna hit some sets? We have a net set up in the backyard." Takeru's eyes shine with excitement. Tooru could only nod and that was all his nephew needed to bolt out of his seat and to where the engawa was. Miya turns to look at him, a grin on his face.
"I'll give ya two some time. Call me if you need anythin'."
Before Tooru could question him, Miya quickly followed Takeru. The floor squeaked, causing Tooru to face the direction of where the sound came from. Blue and brown clash together. An ocean Tooru hadn't seen since he was in middle school welcomed him. One that he thought was gone to the world. Instantly, his eyes watered. Tobio was truly alive.
His kohai looked different from the last time he saw him. He had longer hair styled in a low ponytail. A small fox clip held his bangs out of the way. His eyes were bright and full of life, and his skin had a healthy glow. However, as his eyes trailed over his junior, something caught his eye. And this made his throat clench shut.
On his knee, Tobio wore a brace.
Instantly, Tooru was by Tobio's side. He didn't ask any questions nor did he demand for answers. Helping his junior walk to the living room, the older boy made sure Tobio was comfortable before taking a seat in front of him. Tobio thanked him with a nod and both remained silent for the next few minutes.
