7. Charity Gala- Part 1

Two Weeks Later

"Adrien, come downstairs!" Gabriel shouts from the foyer. He looks down at the invitation in his hand. Usually he'd be against sending Adrien to this kind of thing, but having his son away from home right now actually works out in his favor. He had some business to deal with—concerning magical jewels he needed retrieved—and Gabriel's secret identity won't be at risk if Adrien is in another country.

"Coming!" Adrien jogs down the front stairs and meets his father's side. "Yes?"

"Do you remember my plans to extend my company in England?" His father asks.

He nods. "Yes, what about it?"

Gabriel hands Adrien the thick invitation. "I received this in the mail from your aunt. Amelie is hosting a charity gala in London for the Agreste brand, as a way to start our partnership together. She invited us."

"Oh, so you're coming, too?" Adrien asks, hopefully he'll get to spend some quality time with his distant father.

"No, I'm far too busy at the moment with... other things, but your aunt and I talked, and you're allowed to invite five friends."

Adrien's eyes widen. "I can bring five of my friends?!"

"Yes. Is that enough?"

"It's more than enough! Thank you, Father. Uh... when is this?"

"This weekend. Your train leaves tomorrow morning, so make sure to get ahold of your friends and discuss this with them."

Adrien nods fast. "Sure. O-Of course, Father. I'm sad you won't be able to go."

Gabriel rests a hand on his shoulder. "As am I, son, but I hope you'll have a great time with your friends. Do you know who you want to bring?"

"I do."

Adrien and Kagami stand side-by-side together as they wait for their train to arrive.

She links her hand with his, pulling him close. Due to Adrien's busy schedule, they haven't had much time together, and now there were spending a weekend in London. "I'm really glad you invited me to this, Adrien. We'll finally have some time to ourselves, a romantic weekend away in London."

"About that..." Adrien whispers, squeezing her hand. He forgot to mention one tiny part. "I'm actually allowed to bring five friends along."

Kagami blinks, stunned, and whispers, "Oh... who else did you invite?"

He sighs. "I invited—"

"Hey, bud!" Nino shouts, waving his arms fast.

Adrien and Kagami look over, watching as Nino, Alya, Marinette, and Luka walk towards them.

Kagami's eyes widen. Marinette?! Adrien invited her?! "I see you invited Marinette," She mumbles, letting go of his hand. "Any particular reason why?"

"She loves sightseeing," Adrien answers fast. "L-Luka's also coming, and Nino and Alya."

"Great..."

Nino jumps forward and wraps an arm around Adrien's shoulder. "This is going to be great! A weekend away in London. A weekend away from your old man!"

"You do realize we're going to see my aunt and cousin," Adrien reminds him. "So, I'm still going to be around family."

"Your aunt is sweet, though," Marinette comments with a smile.

Kagami glares at her. Why did Adrien have to invite Marinette? I bet she's still got that big old crush on him. As the pig-tailed girl notices her angry stare, she turns away fast.
