The elder sat at the head of the white marbled table, hands in her lap and shoulders stiff. A hunter, one of the best ones in the field, sat opposite. No one spoke as the silence gave the hunter time to process his thoughts.

"Wait wait wait... let me get this straight. You want me to babysit a group of hunters who can take care of themselves?" A harsh breath could be heard from the man, the sound carrying the weight he feels on his shoulders. "I understand what happened, but don't you think it would be best if-"

"Jae-Min." Wi-gen's sharp voice cut the man off. "You have a job to do. I chose you specifically because I trust you with this matter."

Jae knew very well it was a serious matter, but it doesn't mean he wanted to do it. Sure, he trusted Wi-gen with all his heart, she was almost like a mother to him. Almost. She did offer him a new life and saved him from a comatose state and for that, he's thankful. He just didn't want to do it.

With a groan, he got up from the chair, a small squeak coming from the wood scraping the floor.

"Alright."

Wi-gen sighed in relief, her shoulders lowering into a relaxed state. "This is only temporary. Just until I can sort things out. I trust you'll handle things well."

"Just until you sort things out." Jae huffed out.

Wi-gen gave a final nod. Jae took that as a sign for him to leave. He gave a nod in return, retreating to the entrance he came through many times before.

Jae didn't understand why he had to look after a group of people, specifically hunters. He knew what had happened, everyone was talking about it. A kid, no comatose state, yet was still able to get enlisted in this demon hunting shebang. Who would have thought? Though, a part of him was curious about the situation. He wanted to know more, but the idea of meeting new people and having to deal with the responsibility made him want to be put into a coma again.

He'll have to deal with it for now. Who knows, maybe he'll actually enjoy it.
