Third person perspective, spotlight on Aru- Aru Shah had managed to make her hair perfect. No random frizzy parts sticking out. No jagged edges, tawny patches, or knots. It had taken her FOUR HOURS to do, and she was proud of herself. Now, her hair was everything that it usually wasn't. Sleek, smooth, soft, the perfect combination of elegant and wild.
It was long, too. Falling in a graceful waterfall down her back, all the way to her hips. This might not seem like much of an accomplishment to you, but come on. Let Aru have her little victories.
You might be asking- WHY was Aru doing her hair so nicely? Well, you see, Aru just wanted to feel pretty. Her hair was usually a matted mess, but she was determined to go against what her hair usually was. And, also, she needed to get her mind off of something. Her and her sisters' godly weapons, who were really more like pets, had been destroyed by the Astra. She still felt... hollow. Aru didn't really know who she was without Vajra.
Aru heard something, but she was too busy trying to get one last knot out of her hair. It had formed while she was distracted, though she had NO IDEA how it happened. Aru was aggressively attacking the knot, when she finally noticed what she'd heard. It was a text. Or rather, a message from one of her sisters through the pandava mind link. Aru was expecting it to be from Brynne or Mini. Maybe even Sheela or Nikita, though they usually preferred communicating through dreams.
But when she checked her mind link... it wasn't any of her sisters.
...Or at least not one that she remembered.

Aru read the message over, and over, and over again. But no matter how many times she read it, she still couldn't make sense of it.
Have you decided to join us yet?
It wasn't until Aru saw the sender that it all made sense now.

Aru frowned. Wait, they could have usernames in the mind links? Aru checked all of her sisters' usernames. Brynne was @MasterchefQueen. Mini was @AnythingCanKillYou. (Aru figured she should have expected that...) Nikita was @YouHaveAwfulStyle. Sheela was @FutureSeeingSilverStar. Aru decided to check hers.
Wait... @IHeartAidenAcharya?! For no apparent reason, Aru's face turned a bright red. Tomato red. No, wait. That was an understatement. Lemme start again.
Aru's face turned the brightest shade of red you could ever imagine.
She shook her head, then replied to Kara's message.
Why would I do that? You tried to destroy everything I loved...
Kara's reply came almost immediately.
Just reminding you, we both love the same people. Including the same boy... May I also point out your username?
Aru pouted. They did NOT love the same people! Kara's parental figure was the sleeper, and Aru certainly didn't love the sleeper. Actually, the sleeper was the pandava's (sorry, The Potatoes') greatest enemy. He'd been free (and wreaking havoc) for three years, after Aru set him free when she was twelve. Aru's parental figure, however, was her mother. Krithika Shah, beautiful, intelligent, and the most brilliant doctor that Aru had ever known. Universes better then the sleeper.
AND... Well, Krithika wasn't trying to kill Aru every time they saw each other.
Aru texted (messaged?) Kara back.
Nevermind. Forget that. Enough about Aiden. I know I made the right choice staying with my sisters... My TRUE sisters. They're more like sisters to me than you'll ever be.
Kara's reply was slightly delayed, but still came quickly.
I'll change your mind. I'll change yours and your mom's. We'll all be a big, happy family.
Aru sighed. She knew that Kara was like her father, and she wouldn't give up on her dreams. In fact, she was almost as stubborn as Aru was. But... Kara's next message made Aru shiver.
And I don't care who gets in the way.
Aru decided not to reply, mainly because she'd gotten another text. (Mind link message.) This time, it wasn't from Kara. It was from Brynne. Aru read it.
Wanna go visit Kamadeva?
Aru was confused. Why did Brynne want to visit Kamadeva all of a sudden? There wasn't all that much they could do there... Aru quickly typed her reply.
Why??? What's the point?

Brynne: I dunno, I'm just bored.
Aru: Mm, no, I just did my hair.
Brynne: Come on... It's fine! So what if it gets a little messed up?
Aru: I SPENT FOUR HOURS ON MY HAIR, BRYNNE!!! THAT IS FOUR HOURS I AM NEVER GETTING BACK!!! I AM NOT MESSING UP MY HARD WORK TO GO AND VISIT THE LOVE GOD!!!
Brynne: Okay, okay, geez. I think Aiden said he wanted to hang out with you today? But anyway, I'm going to take you and Aiden with me. And I'll also bring Mini.
Aru: Did Mini agree?
Mini: Um... NO?
Brynne: She didn't. And you didn't. But I'm too bored, so I'm bringing you anyway. Actually, let's bring the whole gang. Can we get Aiden to call up Rudy?
Mini: I-I'm not sure that's such a good idea...
Aru: Why? We're all being forced to go anyway... Why not just bring all of The Potatoes?
Brynne: Not all of them.
Aru: Oh. Right.
Aru: ...Why did we even make Kara a potato?
Brynne: I guess it just happened.
Mini: She's... she's no longer a potato. I can't believe she left with the sleeper. AND broke our weapons!
Aru: I feel... ashamed to call her my sister.
Brynne: Anyway, let's go pack our bags before visiting, ok? Just... try not to think about Kara.
