"Winslow had a twin sister but due to my incompetence only she survived" he gave out a heaved sigh

I don't know what made him tell me about his story but I can sympathize with his pain of losing someone because of being incompetent

I heard from someone that the hospital wasn't doing well when he was in his younger years so I guess it has got to do with the death of his other granddaughter

I raked my fingers through my hair "Sir what is it that you want to tell me?"

He looks at me straight in the eye and said "I just want to Congratulate because you have been chosen to be Ms. Caramia's personal psychiatrist"

I think my brain and body froze "Huh?"

Chairman Thorn sat on the seat in front of me "I get that this is a big leap for your career but it is a great opportunity, the benefits are also added so you could pay off your student loans" he chirped

I almost forgot about my student loans, learning medicine is not cheap and the tuition fee hurts my wallet

I guess it's fine to accept, I need to pay off my student loans anyway

I leaned back on the chair "I accept"
Not me being sound greedy but I want to know the benefits

Chairman Thorn's face lit up "Great! I'm glad you accept it," he said then stood up to walk around the desk to get the papers

He pulled out a paper and slid it across the table to me, I caught the paper with my hand and checked to see the benefits. Most of them gave me a high salary, a possible promotion, and insurance.

"Ms. Caramia is the person in charge mostly of your  salary and insurance" He added
Sounds good to me I guess

I checked closely all the benefits before putting down my signature to the agreement that I will become Caramia's personal psychiatrist to represent the hospital to the public eye
This feels like I just changed hospitals here but except I'll be living in a mansion from now on

I handed the paper back to Chairman Thorn and he checked my signature, he nodded his head and gave out a hum of approval "Then it is settled then, I'll inform Winslow and she can relay it to Caramia. I suggest you start packing Eugene" he grinned at me widely

Why does my walk back to the cafeteria feel so slow?
Is it because I'll have to accept the fact that I'm going to live with Caramia or is it that I'm going to miss the busy hospital corridors that I always walk on to do my daily round checkups?

Whatever it is it's making me anxious

When I finally arrived back in my seat, all eyes are on me with hints of seriousness
