It was a high school trip, they are going to a city to visit a historical sight, shopping and other fun activities that they have been planning all year. Normal students get excited for it, not Jeno, especially not him and he had a good reason.

Jeno had been praying to any higher being that his roommate would be Jaemin, his best friend. It's not because they would be disruptively loud and cause a nuisance for the teacher and chaperones, it's because he helps Jeno in a way that  no one could.

The school bus had pulled up to the hotel, all the students exited the bus in an order that was told by the teacher. Starting with the back, the middle and the front to get off of the bus.

His mother had pushed him to go, saying that he needs to be out of his comfort and try to have fun. He was aggravated that she wasn't considerate about his situation, constant situation but he can see where she's trying to come from, but he doesn't appreciate it.

He doesn't understand what his problem is, he knows it's not that serious but he needs to have a comfort person around him when he sleeps. Someone to be there to reassure him that the realistic nightmares aren't true, or to tell him that he's really awake and not dreaming inside another dream. He would wake up having an anxiety attack, in cold sweat or straight up crying, he assumes it has to do something with his anxiety and depression. It had to be, this isn't something Jeno has to go through and unfortunately, he doesn't want to go to therapy.

He doesn't want to make his mom pay a lot of money, just for the therapist to tell him to listen to relaxing music, take deep breaths or smell lavender to help him fall asleep better. He already had wikihow telling him that.

They walked into the lobby of the hotel, seeing it was spacious and had a marbled theme to it. Smelt like every hotel bathroom soap and it was cool thanks to the  air conditioning. All the students around him were saying that they are excited to shop, do extroverted things and simply enjoy their lives in the city. He sighed, he wishes that he can have that kind of soul, but his soul  is worn out, somber and just plain annoying to have.

"Okay, everyone come grab a schedule that says your roommate," the teacher said, holding up his clipboard that carries the papers. He had an unenthusiastic tone as well, the difference between him and Jeno, he is supposed to be here, Jeno had a choice but he didn't want to burden his mother with an argument.

Jeno shifts his eyes to the left, making eye contact with Jaemin, both of them are nervous because they need to be roommates. Jeno stayed in his place, indicating that the younger one should go get the schedule, to see if Jeno will sleep on  this trip or not. It's not an overnight trip, that's the annoying part about this, it's three days so his sleep relies on that piece of paper.

Jaemin walked up to the teacher, giving him a small smile  but didn't receive one back from the elder. He rolled his eyes, grabbed the paper out of his hand and walked away. He looked down at the paper, stopping in his tracks and looked up to give Jeno a disappointed look, shaking his head a little.

Looks like Jeno isn't going to sleep at all, his main source of drinks will be coffee or energy drinks because he refuses to go through hell because the teacher knew Jeno wanted Jaemin as his roommate – he needed Jaemin, actually.

He didn't sleep, he stayed up all night, drinking coffee like it was water and watching youtube videos. Taeyong, his designated roommate, slept like a baby, he could tell by the loud snoring and moans when he had found a comfortable position. He rolled his eyes whenever he saw or heard Taeyong switch positions, muttering stuff like "lucky bastard," or "shut the fuck up," because he was flaunting his luxury to have a good night  sleep.
