Three Weeks Later...
As I laid on the couch, completely drained mentally, I began to curse under my breath. Despite all the time that's passed, me and Miyu still haven't figured out any way to change her parent's mind. Despite her trying to convince her parents to at least speak to me once to let me try and prove myself, they haven't budged. And I still haven't figured out any way to make them talk to me that wouldn't end up allowing them to call the cops suggesting harassment. Without any clue what to do, and having not seen her in so long, I'm really missing her, and while I'm trying to hold onto hope, I'm starting to worry that it just won't happen.
As I sat there, I heard a door open, and concerned about an intruder or something, I jumped up and turned my head to the door, only to see a familiar man in a suit.
"Oh, it's you." I said dropping down again. I forgot he was gonna be here.
"Yep." Dad said as he took off his coat and stepped into the living room. He looked around and after seeing me not even doing anything, he asked "What's wrong with you?"
"What does it matter to you?" I asked
"Last time I checked, you're my son, that's why it's my business." Dad said, walking towards the same recliner in the living room he always sits in.
As much as I wanted to just get up and walk away, I tried to keep in mind how I told my aunt I'd give him another shot, and after sighing, I stood up and said "I ended up falling in love with a girl at Arisugawa, but her parents have forbade her from meeting or talking to me in any capacity."
Dad sighed and said "Right, of course it'd be teenager issues. So, tell me her name, considering the families that put their daughters in Arisugawa, maybe I have connections to her family at work."
Why the hell would he have connections to those kinds of people "Miyu Sakurada." I said
"Ah, okay. Then if she's a part of the Sakurada family, I have an idea of how to get you to be able to speak to them." Dad said
"What? How?"
"There's going to be a party hosted by the owner of an influential business, and typically they invite well off families such as the Sakuradas. And I was able to get invited to this thanks to my position in the company I work for. If I take you along, you should be able to speak to them." Dad said
"But wouldn't it be a bad thing for you to drag somebody who wasn't invited in?" I said
"It would be if it wasn't my son. In fact it'll look good if my boss thinks that despite my absences I'm still a good father." he said. Right, figures he'd have some angle in all this...
"Alright, if you'll take me, I'll try and make sure Miyu has her family go." I said
"Fantastic. Now let's get you a suited up."

One Week Later...
I hate wearing suits. I hate wearing this kind of formal clothing, I'm happy with just jeans and a t-shirt or something, yet here I am stuck walking beside my father at this stuffy party, trying to keep an eye out for Miyu, who said she'd stay by her parents, so I knew where to go.
As the music played in the background, and people came up to speak to my dad more and more, I stepped away, and walked off to look for Miyu. Eventually I spotted her in a dress that looked really beautiful on her, and I felt a rush of hope. This is really my chance.
I headed over and I said "Excuse me, would you happen to be Mrs. Sakurada?"
"Yes I am, is something the matter?" she responded
"Yes actually, it's about your daughter." I responded
"Mama, this is the boy you forbid me from seeing a month ago." Miyu said
"What? Why are you here? I am not going to allow you to enter a relationship with my daughter!" she said
"And why is that? I at least want to communicate like people about this." I said
"Our sweet Miyu is just 16, she's still just a child." Mr. Sakurada said "She shouldn't be worrying about such things yet."
"I'm not a child Papa!" Miyu shot back "I'm growing up, and I thought that you would have realized after me and my friends started Lyrical Lily."
"I understand that you care about her, but she's growing up faster than you seem to realize. Your efforts to protect are just stifling her." I said
"Are you trying to lecture us about parenting?" Mrs. Sakurada snapped at me
"Miyu has helped me start to realize the world isn't quite as cynical as I thought. I just want the best for her, and to be beside her, and so I'll do whatever it takes to make that happen, so please give me a chance to be with your daughter." I said
"Just let Miyu and the boy be together."
I looked and saw that walking towards us was an older lady "Grandma!" Miyu said, holding her hands to her mouth as she smiled
"Come on Mom, Miyu isn't ready for such things." Mr. Sakurada said
"This boy raised a perfectly good point. You two have been overly protective of Miyu." she said before turning to us "You two enjoy yourselves, I'll deal with these two for you."
"Thank you Grandma." Miyu happily said
"Thank you." I said
She smiled at us once more before turning back to Miyu's parents. I took a hold of Miyu's hand and the two of us spent a while catching up and enjoying each other's company. Eventually, as we ended up near a dance floor.
"Since we're together and this is a party, shall we dance?" Miyu asked
"I mean I'd be for it, but I have no clue what I'm doing so you're gonna have to kinda teach me as we go." I said
Miyu smiled and as you guided me onto the floor she said "I'd be happy to teach you Y/n." She gestured for me to hold up my left arm as she suggested and placed her left hand on my shoulder. "Now put your right hand on the back of my waist."
I did as she asked, and as I placed it there, she blushed a little and started to teach me the steps as we danced. After I had gotten the hang of it, as we danced, looking into each other's eyes, I said "I never got to say it to your face, so I wanna say it again now. I love you Miyu, before I met you I wasn't in the best place, but you've shined a light onto me. I sometimes still struggle with trusting people, but you've shown me that there is good in people, and there's nobody who seems as wonderful as you."
Miyu smiled at me and said "I love you too Y/n. When I first met you, you seemed so distant, and while you tried to seem disinterested in people, I saw this little bit of you that cared about people so much. And while I've been with you and watched you change, I ended up falling for the person you've started to become."
Once we stepped off the dance floor, Miyu said "Y/n, about your ring. I'm not wearing the chain right now since I was asked to wear a specific necklace for this, but I thought you'd want this back since we're together again." She then slid a ring off her finger and held it out to me. I guess it's just her size.
"How about you hold onto it for me for a while longer?" I asked
"Really?" Miyu said
"Of course, if there's anybody I would trust it with, it's the woman I love." I said
Miyu smiled at me and said "Then I'll make sure to keep it safe."
The two of us spent a while longer with each other, enjoying the party in each other's company before it eventually came to an end, and we headed our separate ways, planning to meet up again soon. But unlike before, we won't be meeting up as friends, but instead as lovers.

A/n: To be honest, I kinda realized just after I published the last chapter that the solution I had come up with all this didn't make sense and I had accidentally written myself into a corner, but I ended up coming up with this not bad answer that gave me quite a few fun ideas I can work in later.
