Our Goodbyes

*Incoming call from Unknown*

"Let me go in the other room...I'm getting a call."  I was iffy about answering it, as I obviously didn't have the person in my contacts. I answered it after hesitated and lifted the phone to my ear.

"H-Hello? Who is this?"

Dad: "Hello Grace...it's your dad, one of my buddies were saving up to bail me out and he finally saved enough. Pack up, you and Layla are moving back with me."

"What? No! You can't do that, please dad. Don't make me leave."

Dad: "It's already been arranged, I'll be there in three hours" With that, he hung up. I walked back out into the living room with tears in my eyes.

Ash: "Who was on the phone, ma? What happened?"

"It was my dad...he made bail and he's coming in 3 hours."

Fez: "Elaborate?"

"I have to move back with him."

Ash: "The hell if you do!"

Fez: "Ain't no way, bruh. You our family now."

Faye: "Aw. I'm sorry."

"There's nothing I can do, I mean I'm illegally living here with you guys, meaning my dad is now able to be my legal guardian."

Ash: "What the fuck are we gonna do? We can't just let you go."

Fez: "We don't got a choice, man. That's her father, he could take her out the country and There's not shit we could do."

Ash: "We could kill the fucker"

Fez: "Hell the fuck no, Ash"

Ash: "The offer was there"

"Look, I appreciate you guys trying to come up with a solution but there really isn't anything we can do"

Fez: "Can't believe this is happening right now"

"I know, I wish it wasn't. I wish there was another way but there's not"

Fez: "It's gonna be okay, I promise. We'll see you again"

"Yeah ..I know it's just gonna be in such a long time"

Ash: "I'll wait for you, always"

It made me smile, knowing Ash would wait for me.

"I don't wanna tell the others. I don't wanna say goodbye to them, it only makes it harder. Hell, I didn't even wanna say goodbye to the 3 of you. That's even worse"

Faye: "We'll all still be here when you come back. We'll all wait for you"

"Thanks, Faye. I'm coming back the very day I turn 18"

Fez: "I like that idea"

Faye: "And until then, I guess it's only texts and facetimes"

"Guys, I want you to tell the others after I leave cause I know Lexi is gonna make me say goodbye, then I'd just cry more" I laughed a little.

Fez: "Of course, we gotchu"

The hours pass and Dad arrives at Fez's house to pick me up.

Dad: "You ready?" He opened his arms, trying to hug me.

"No but I don't have a fucking choice, do I?" I pushed passed him to get my phone, dodging his hug. I then went over and hugged Faye, then Fez, and lastly Ash.

"You have no idea how much I'm gonna miss you all"

Fez: "I know, this shouldn't be happening. It's fucked up, honestly"

Dad: "Grace we have to hurry back-"

"Shut the fuck up dad, let me take my time!"

Ash: "Listen, when you get back to your old house think about seeing us again. It'll make time go by quick and also it goves you something to look forward to"

"I didn't think of it like that. It's a good idea" I gave him one last kiss before leaving with my dad and Layla.

Yes, that is the end of this book and I will be starting a new one. I'm gonna make a sequel to this one after the next book, though 😉
