Chapter 6

Tommy walked up to the big house with ranboo for the head of house meeting that happened before every quest. Both of them being head of their houses. "Are you planning on volunteering for this quest" ranboo asked in a quiet voice. "I don't feel like I have a choice anymore" Tommy replied, honestly. "I don't feel like I can sit here knowing people are in danger because of something my dad did"
"You do know it's going to be harder for you and Tubbo to stay under the radar? How are you two going to explain being in America if people see you?" Ranboo asked.
Of course ranboo asked the logical questions being a child of Athena. "I can't worry about that now" Tommy replied with a frown.
"Maybe we can just get you guys some hats and sunglasses" Ranboo said trying to lighten the mood a little. Tommy felt a flood of warmth for his friend and smiled at him softly.
Tommy walked into the big house feeling a little more optimistic he smiled ready to make his typical loud entrance. "What is up fellow campers" Tommy said loudly in his streamer voice.
"Really the streamer voice, is that your default social setting" ranboo said in a teasing voice.
Sadly, Tommy's entrance was not as noticed as he would have liked it to be with the chaos that was already unfolding in the room. People were already throwing things at each other and arguments had already broken out among the cabins. Tommy loved it here.
"Well it looks like everyone's here, let's settle down now" Chiron said in a calming voice. And though he did not nearly reach Tommy's volume the room immediately calmed and settled around the table.
Tommy sat down next to ranboo waiting for Chiron to start speaking tensing up in anticipation.
"I'm not certain how much everyone knows but right now, the children of Hermes are in grave danger" Chiron said still speaking in a soft voice but commanding the attention of the room. "As of now we don't know why, but they are all being targeted, Hermes has requested personally that we send out a quest to gather his children who he has not yet claimed"
Muttering broke out amongst the campers them not looking happy with the quest. "Should the Hermes cabin deal with this" said a practically brave camper. "We all know Hermes managed to piss someone off and bring the wrath down on his children like usual.
Chiron sighed and said "Hermes has requested that one of his children is the one to deal with this seeing as it's a family problem"
"He has actually requested that you deal with it Tommy seeing as you're one of his eldest children at camp" Chiron said still looking concerned.
Tommy had been expecting this seeing as he had been getting more dreams from his father than usual.
"You don't have to accept this quest Tommy" Chiron said gravely. Though they both knew that was not really true both of them knowing how dangerous it could be to deny a god.
"I accept the quest Chiron" Tommy said glad that he was finally able to do something to help.
"Very well, who will you bring with you" Chiron said already sounding resigned.
"Tubbo and ranboo" Tommy said easily knowing there was no one else he would think of bringing on this quest.
"Here is the list of kids you need to warn, be warned these kids don't know anything about their godly family yet, so you will have a hard time convincing some of them to come. Warn as many of them as you can" Chiron paused looking serious ", but please do be careful you and Tubbo will also be in danger the entire time you are away from here, but I trust you will look after yourselves and each other.
Tommy nodded already itching to go and start knowing they did not have much time.
Chiron most likely thinking the same thing said gather what you will need you should leave as soon as possible.
Tommy left the room with ranboo following quickly behind him "I'm going to grab my stuff you should get Tubbo and get your things too" Ranboo said as always efficient.
Tommy nodded and split off from ranboo "meet you at the entrance" ranboo called after Tommy.
Tommy glanced down at the list and scoffed of course they did not have any addresses next to them. But knowing that the gods could not be to helpful he was grateful that he was at least giving names.
"Tubbo pack your shit where questing" Tommy called as soon as he entered the cabin.
"Way ahead of your boss man" Tubbo said with a grin. "I already packed you to"
Tommy smiled at his friend before saying "thanks bee boy" a little sarcastically because he could never resist teasing his friends.
They quickly meet with ranboo at the front of the camp. "You know where to go first?" ranboo asked
"Maybe we should follow that golden line" Tubbo said waving vaguely in front of him.
Tommy and ranboo both frowned looking around attempting to see what Tubbo did.
"Look at that the gods can be helpful" Tommy said with a smirk. "Are first sign, this should be easy clap" Tommy said already walking towards the van feeling optimistic about their chances.
Tommy was feeling less optimistic when they had been the van for 3 hours with the line still stretching forward with not end in sight according to Tubbo. He was bored with sitting still and kind of wanted to fight something.
"Turn into the airport" Tubbo said leaning forward and giving the instruction last minute as usual. Ranboo frowned but quickly pulled into the airport "are we getting on a plane" ranboo asked.
"Yup" Tubbo replied making sure to really pronounce the p at the end.
"Where are we going" Tommy asked looking at the flights.
Tubbo paused and shrugged "not sure yet, let's go in"
They went into the airport looking at the board of flights. Tubbo looked up at the board and smiled at them "boys were going to Florida" Tubbo said with a grin.
