Andrew's head shot up when Moon shouted to her friend, Moon had rushed over to Darla and had her hands over the wound. Andrew stumbled over and kneeled next to her and his eyes widened. Ice came from Moon's hands and encased a part of Darlas head forming a sort of cast to stop the bleeding.
"How did you..?" Andrew looked over at Moon in amazement as the ice melted to reveal the wound was now healed. Moon put a hand over where the wound was and smiled sadly,
"She never listens." She then turned to Andrew,
"Thank you for trying to warn her even if she didn't listen."
"I mean if you're trying to get out too we need to help each other!" Moon smiled nodding her head,
"Yeah then I need to really pull my weight."
Outside of the mirror the others were looking at the mirror surprised,
"Welp, Nick, Vic, Are bleeding mirrors normal in the human world?" The other two stared mouth agape looking at the mirror which had cracked. Through the crack had golden blood leaking from it that had a faint glow.
"It's not normal, Nick, does your paranormal investigator brain have any idea?" Nickolas went to a bookshelf and grabbed a book turning through the pages.
"We are dealing with a spirit, specifically an Alp spirit." Zayla was already lost,
"Bro, English please," Nickolas rolled his eyes.
"An Alp is a kind of spirit that has lost it's memory and gets attached to a being that brings back at least one of the memories and will then trap them." He looked at the two girls,
"Long story, they're a pain in the ass to get rid of, and the type of spirits I know the least about." Zaylas head hit the table with a thud and Victoria looked at the mirror annoyed, "Hear that? You're a pain in the ass!" She then flipped the mirror off and crossed her arms.
"This also raises another thing, Andrew could be anything," Nickolas sat at the other end of the table. When working with Victoria and Zayla they're more brawn than brains, making Nickolas the only brains.
"For all we know Andrew could be a hybrid like me," he was focused on the book as Zayla looked at the mirror closer.
"I'd say about 1600's highly upper class," Catching Victoria and Nickolas off guard. "What?"
"The mirror, If we're dealing with a spirit, if we found out when the mirror was made it could narrow down the time frame the spirit died, right?" Nickols nodded,
"Uh, yeah, since when items are used by Alps they usually disappear only in unnatural ways." Victoria looked between the two,
"I'm sorry I don't speak nerd."
Nickolas punched her shoulder,
"Maybe you shouldn't have dropped out when we were younger." Victoria rolled her eyes,
"Anyway, this will require a lot of research I'm guessing?" Nickolas nodded reading further into the book,
"Yep, reading specifically." Victoria and Zayla groaned,
"I say we rely on an article from google."
"Nope," Nickolas pointed up the stairs where his room was,
"Third shelf any books with gold grab them." The two walked up the stairs complaining as Nickolas smiled proudly.
The girls came down with about five books all with gold coloured pages,
"Good now, read." They both grabbed a book lazily and started reading,
"Why did Darla put you in charge?" About an hour into reading Victoria came across something,
"Nick found something."
"The floors yours sis," Victoria rolled her eyes and started reading,
"Alps usually are young in the range of five to ten years of age. They have a weakness to sirens and other creatures with magical properties to their voice and water." Zayla looked at Nickolas who's eyes closed,
"Do we know any sirens?" Zayla shook her head,
"Nope but now we have an age range for our Alp." Nickolas sighed and got out a notebook and turned to a blank page.
"I guess that's an up, thanks Vic." Nickolas scribbled something on the page and continued reading,
"Still nothing on how to defeat it though?" The girls shook their heads frowning,
"Good thing those two are pacient." The longer they studied the more Nickolas felt off ,something wasn't right, if this was an Alp protective over Andrew then why wasn't it attacking them. He looked at the books the girls were reading and the designs were glowing. Designs were glowing.. He placed the book on the table as soon as it started to become warm.
"Put the books down!" Zayla threw the book as Victoria just dropped it, as all of the books with gold started to turn to golden ash. They all watched in defeat as the ash fell away to reveal a book with a sun. Zayla picked up the book which was warm to the touch and opened it.
"It's for you Nick," Nickolas took the book and looked at the front page there it read
"For Nickolas Rosewood," in golden ink. He turned the page looking at the pages,
"It's written in Greek!" He smiled looking at the cover,
"It must be from Apalo!"
"Ap-what?" Zayla tilted her head as Nickolas scanned the pages,
"The Greek god of the sun, I should light his candle now that I think about it." Nickolas kept looking through the book with Victoria and Zayla watching. He jumped out of his seat,
"Magical water!" Zayla sat there unimpressed,
"What about it?"
"Water that's infused with magic would have the same potency as a siren's song!" Victoria had her head down,
"Oh I have a secret stash in my room!" she said sarcastically.
"Moon makes magic ice, ice comes from water, Moon could defeat the Alp!"
