What's up everyone it's Mario and Sonic fanboy and today we're doing another top 5 matchups I want to see in Death Battle season 9. If you haven't seen part one check it out it's about two chapters away. And like last time this is all simply my opinion but anyways let's get to the list.
5. Tanjiro Kamado VS Hyakkimaru (Demon Slayer VS Dororo)

With Tanjiro being confirmed at first I thought his matchup was going to be the premiere because in the past Miles Morales and Yoda were revealed first and they ended up being the premiere but that's not the case here. Now before we get on let's go over the other matchups. Tanjiro VS Jonathan is a popular request I've seen and while I understand the connections, there are some things about it that are either half right or a bit wrong, especially when you compare how they started their lives, goals, and especially the siblings. Jonathan has everything, while Tanjiro didn't, Jonathan simply wanted to be a true gentleman and defeat Dio and try to reform him whereas Tanjiro didn't have any goal as he's happy the life he has despite being poor it was only until after his family was killed by a demon and when Nezuko turned into a demon that he had a goal, and finally the siblings part, Dio isn't really cursed sure he became a vampire but that's because he CHOOSE to become a vampire so I wouldn't consider it cursed because he willingly chose to become a vampire so I don't thing that counts that's like say a woman was raped because she chose to when in reality it isn't really rape because she chose to have sex with the appropriate rapist and wasn't forced to do it. On top of that even before that Dio was a psychopath, dude legit was the equivalent of convicted serial killers with an abusive past and have a hobby of killing animals and bullying people including his own family and he never loved Jonathan and showed no remorse after his death and was the main antagonist of the entire series, meanwhile Nezuko not only loved Tanjiro but she didn't choose to become a demon, she was forced to be one and had no choice, and showed legit remorse for when Tanjiro is in danger and for his supposed death at the hands of Muzan, also she's the deuteragonist of the series for those of you who don't know the deuteragonist is the second most importance of the story next to the main protagonist, something that Dio is not. Other than that though the connections of both kind-hearted guys with tragic past of losing their family and fight monsters who are weak to the sun, and have the powers of the sun, and their bloodline lives on. Edward VS Tanjiro is definitely interesting and has potential. However I think Hyakkimaru makes sense because not only does he have more connections with Tanjiro but he's more of a mirror/clone of Tanjiro than Jonathan ever was also it's a very unique fight even more so than Edward but anyways let's get on to the connections.
The connections between both Tanjiro and Hyakkimaru is that their both teenagers who live in an ancient era of Japan before the modern era (Taisho era and Sengoku era) who lived terrible lives from the start since they were born (Tanjiro was poor and Hyakkimaru was abandoned) both suffered tragic lives which caused them to become demon slayers while being accompanied by a little sister companion (Nezuko Kamado and Dororo) who share a similar tragedy like them (Nezuko was turned into a demon and her whole family was killed by Muzan Kibutsuji and Dororo lost his parents who were killed by Daigo Samurai forces) this forcing them to go on a journey with the people the considered brothers to avenge them. Both are known for slaying demons with goals that involve restoring humanity, getting the human body back, and turning suck into a human (Tanjiro wants to turn Nezuko back into a human and Hyakkimaru wants to get his original body back) and have unique abilities with their swords (Breathing and demonic limbs) both their families also have some sort connections with the Demons they were hunted in their life (Kamado family and Daigo family, respectively) and vows to get revenge on the main villains who caused them and their family pain and suffering (Muzan Kibutsuji and Kagemitsu Daigo, respectively). Both also have anime adaptations that aired in 2019.
