Fish Taste Slimy, Mom

This is a story from when I was in 5th grade.

My brother was in 2nd grade at the time, and he had a special class day where kids were allowed to bring in their families to talk about school and work.

There was one kid in my brother's class who was 2 years older than all the other kids.

Let's call him Marvin. No offense to any people out there named Marvin, of course.

Anyway, my brother's teacher was a really nice lady.

She often brought in little peppermints for the kids to eat while in class.

Everyone loved and respected her.

She had been my teacher a few years before as well, so my brother had heard how nice she was from me and she had heard about him from me.

Marvin, however, was fairly new to the school(he had only been there a few weeks) and treated her like she was a big, fat joke.

She would try to help him with his work, and he would ignore her.

She would help him find books to read in the library, and he would check out different ones just to spite her.

He was so mean, she often had to excuse herself from the room to calm down from his rude insults and mean behavior.

Marvin thought that people would like him for disrespecting the teacher, because he had done that in his old school and it worked just fine.

However, during the family day, Marvin took his rudeness too far.

You see, my brother's teacher brought in a goldfish she brought from her home to study in class, because they were learning about the parts of a fish in science.

The goldfish was named Dooby(don't ask me why, I have no clue).

Everyone thought Dooby was adorable. Marvin didn't.

At one point during the family day, my brother's teacher brought the parents into another classroom to talk about the curriculum and tests that were coming up.

My teacher left me and one of my classmates, who we'll call Mickey, alone to watch the little kids.

This was when Marvin decided to strike.

As Mickey and I were watching the kids, Marvin snuck away to Dooby's tank.

I saw him pulling the food latch open, and thought he was going to feed Dooby.

Nope, I was immediately wrong.

Marvin stuck his hand through the slot and grabbed Dooby.

Mickey turned around and told Marvin to put Dooby back in the tank immediately.

Marvin reached to put Dooby into his mouth.

Mickey then gave the "put it back or I'll tell your mother" card.

Marvin grumbled and went to put Dooby back in the tank.

He reached to put Dooby in the slot... and put Dooby in his mouth.

Mickey immediately grabbed Marvin and tried prying his mouth open, while I consoled the little kids.

Then I heard Mickey telling Marvin to spit Dooby out right now.

At this point, my brother's teacher and the parents heard the commotion and ran into the classroom, asking what was wrong.

I explained to the parents that Marvin had Dooby in his mouth and would not spit him out.

My brother's teacher walked up to Marvin and said, "Young man, spit that fish out right now and put him back in the tank IMMEDIATELY."

Marvin looked her right in the eyes...

And swallowed Dooby whole.

My brother's teacher lost it.

She started screaming and yelling at Marvin to get out of her class.

Marvin's mother grabbed him by the wrist and pulled him out of there.

We never saw him again after that.

His mom came back a day later though.

She brought 10 goldfish to my brother's class as an apology about what happened.

Apparently, she sold his PS4 to buy the goldfish, and used the rest to buy some awesome biology charts that my brother still uses today.

To this day, I haven't been able to get that moment out of my mind.
