Kirstie POV

"Eughhh!"

I audibly groaned making my way into the school gates.

Normally I would have a slight spring in my step whenever I walked anywhere but today was Monday. And I was in school. And it was 8am.

"Someone looks happy," I rolled my eyes at Mitch's sarcasm, pulling him into a hug. "Shut up! No one can be happy at this hour," I replied hitting him playfully. I took my phone out of my pocket.

Two minutes until the bell.

I looked around in search for my blond-haired babe but I couldn't see him which was strange. He was taller than basically everyone at school. "He's not here yet," I nodded at him remembering that Scott wasn't one for being on time on Mondays. "What've you got first?" I asked him, putting my phone back in my jeans pocket. "Um, Chem. I think. I don't even know anymore," he laughed and got out his timetable to check.

And with that the bell rang.

A swear I could feel the floors rumble under my feet. I mentally counted to three.

One ... distant murmurs became clearer.

Two... loud footsteps sounded like thunder in a storm

Three... a stampede of teenagers charged towar—— OH SHIT!

Scott POV

Bleep bleep. Bleep bleep. Bleep bleep.

"Shut up."

Bleep bleep. Bleep bleep. Bleep bleep.

"Shut up."

Bleep ble—-

"SHUT THE FUCK UP! OH MY GOD!"

I started violently hitting my phone over and over again until it was silent. I rolled over and snuggled further into my sheets. I nuzzled my head into my pillows and drifted back to sleep. My body laid still but my mind raced on.

(dream)

What the hell? Where am I?

Everything was slightly blurred and I couldn't really see what was happening. I could only hear heavy breathing and the sound of my own feet against the dusty floor. Oh I guess I was running.

"Scott!"

What? Who's shouting at me? Why am I running?

"Scott Hoying?!"

Oh my god. Now I'm scared.

I kept on running blindly away from the voice until it suddenly got really quiet. My legs stopped dead still and I turned around. I could see something on the ground. It looked a little like a person but they were curled into a ball. It started to whimper.

"Please, Scott." It whispered at me lifting its head.

I recognized that voice. It was like an angel.

"Mitch?"

He stared at me. His eyes were literally the only thing I could see clearly. The blur and dust around him surrounded his body and face. A tear fell from his right eye.
