the car ride was very awkward, besides suna showing you memes occasionally. eventually you guys got to the restaurant and it took awhile for all of you guys to sit down. ms. hana kept saying she had a something she wanted to talk about.

"so y/n.." you looked up at ms. hana with a small smile.

"do you play sports, or have a career path in mind?"

"oh um.. the only physical activity I really do is skating.." her smile dropped a little and you scrambled to explain.

"you see i want to be a paramedic (unless you dont then pick something else) and you know, i have to stay active somehow.. haha.."

"oh how lovely, i bet youll be very successful. do you have a girlfriend?" you blanked for a second, knowing you didnt like girls all that much but youd still date them, you didnt have to tell her that though.

"no, im single. i have someone in mind though"

"oh? i wish you the best of luck. weve been trying to get rintarō to get a girlfriend, its very important he continues the bloodline." that was probably the weirdest thing youve ever heard.

"oh.. um.. thanks?" suna rolled his eyes and continued scrolling through his phone.

"youre related to kita, do you get good grades like him? his grandmother told me he was gay and that was a little questionable, and your grandmother accepted it, maybe its because she has you to marry a fine young woman." that was alot of homophobia to unpack and so you said what you did, with no regrets.

"im gay" suna choked on his drink and ms. hana and you were staring at eachother. mr. sato had finally said something.

"isnt that wonderful, i bet youll find the finest husband." he smiled, and it didnt seem pained or had anything bad behind it. it seemed genuine.

"how could you agree with.. THAT" she had raised her voice towards the end and suna was still trying to breathe.

"simple, he hasnt done anything to judge us, why judge him." the couple staired at eachother while you rubbed sunas back a little.

"are you okay?"  you whispered in his ear and he nodded.

"suna youre okay with your friend being gay?!" at this point the whole restaurant was staring and you realised a couple of people were recording. you expected suna to just say he didnt know but what he said next shocked you. alot.

"why wouldnt i be okay with it, hes my boyfriend after all."

all hell broke loose. the mother ended up getting kicked out by security and the father apologized, recommending suna stayed the night at your place. you agreed and shin picked you up. you guys got to your house and both immediately went to your room.

"hey y/n.."

"yea?" you smiled at him and he looked upset.

"im sorry for calling you my boyfriend.. i just really.. really wanted her to shut up.."

"oh.. its okay rin, i didnt mind" you smiled at him and he smiled back.

you guys ended up going to sleep cuddling, after saying goodnight to the twins.
