They came in swarms like angry wasps, encircling the little band. Five of them, including the other three make eight. This was not what Serena had anticipated, as did the others. From their rooftop view, Din and Bo-Katan both could sense there was no easy way out. Then, what happened next would change everything.

Serena held her blade boldly, it's metallic hook giving a glint in the late sun, as if it were cobra ready to strike. The leader of the band of hitmen was smiling, a smile that could make your blood curdle. But Serena's didn't, it pounded through her like a mighty river. The tension was crazy, and she wondered why. Why is it taking this long? Din shouted from the rooftop "Serena, no!" but it was toon late. She decided to strike first, and so with the speed of lightning charged towards the leader.

The man shot a blast, which nearly set Serena nearly off course before leaping high in the air and giving an all out cry of ferocity that set some of the men behind the leader running. She managed to shoot two or three before toppling over the attacker, and after a few punches for flavor, had him pinned down with her foot. Then pointed her sword with a menacing passion that could send shivers up your spine. But before she could do anything, a loud explosion could be seen, its smoke billowing out into the sky. Serena gazed at it for a moment, then turned to the leader still pinned by her foot and growled " I'm going to spare you, but don't get slick. Din! Thalia! Get these soldiers tied up, and get some of the locals to guard them. This guy is going to answer some questions," she gets her foot off his neck, to which he begins gasping for air and signals his men to surrender. Simeon and Bo-Katan jet down and grab the leader to take him in for questions. Soon after Din comes down and runs to Serena, and gives an awkward side hug before looking her over and saying " That was incredible!" He lets go of her and gently strokes her cheek and whispers " You may not hear me say this often, but even though you're not truly my own blood, I'm proud of you." Serena didn't look like it but she was tearing up on the inside. She smiled, but before she could reply, she looked over to see s shouting from the resisting bandits. One yelled, "Traitor to our people, just like your father!"

"Hope you wither in mirth!" said another

"Long live the Guardians! True supreme rulers of space!" All the prisoners chanted.

Suddenly, a flashback came to Serena from years she thought she wouldn't remember.

Flashback

"Please sir! Not my daughter! I beseech you!" The young man cried as he blocked the little girl from view. 3-year-old Serena gazed up at her father, Kyrizi Tennet in fear. "Papa? What's going on?" The man in an offical's uniform stepped forward and took a look at the little girl, then back at Kyrizi. "If you want her to live, you'll need to come with us instead!"

"Ky no!" A woman's voice called, it was her mother. She ran toward her husband and daughter and said "Ky, please don't do this, it won't make it any better. And how will Serena and I live without you?" Serena's father looked into her eyes then whispered something into her ear, to which her mother's eyes leaked with tears. Then he crouched down and whispered "Serena, don't ever forget who you are, and all who love you. I will return to you one day, I promise, and I will set things right." He hastily kissed her on the forehead before standing up and being dragged by the officer. Tears streamed down her face as she screamed for her father, running after him. Her mother caught her and hoisted her up into her arms, also still sobbing, looked beyond to see her last hopes drift away.

End of Flashback

"Serena, Serena!" Din said, waving a hand in front of her face. She came back, remembering where she was. "Did anyone else hear that noise or was it just me?" she asked as they walked. "I heard it too, we should go and see." Din said "Here, let's get up in the air. It'll be a better view."
"But I don't have a flying Phoenix. Wait...Din?"
At that moment he hoisted her into her arms to which she yelped like a puppy, and soon both were high above the high sandstone buildings of the little Metropolis. "You could've warned me beforehand you know." Serena said grumpily, to which Din chuckled but only for a moment, as they approached the site. It was a transporter, filled of what looked like to be parts of...

"Battle Droids?" They both said at the same time. Din landed them both safely and immediately started taking it in, figuring out what could've happened. Meanwhile, Serena began rummaging through the smoky scrap metal of what remained of the small carrier. It was then she noticed something glimmer among the rubble. She crouched down and gently as she could picked it up. Her eyes opened wide of the realization, and yelled over to Din "These aren't any ordinary droids Din, take a look at this."

Din ran over and came down to Serena's level, and took the object to examine it, then said with urgency "We'll need to get back, the others will be wondering where we disappeared to." He then pocketed the small chip and stood back up and began walking back, Serena trailing behind. So far, things have only seem to fog up more and more confusion, but Serena could, no would only hope that things will clear up soon.
