Author's Note: I was reminded in the comment section of Ao3 that Crow isn't actually a Crow but rather a Weasel.
Oops, lol.
Well, for the purpose of the plot he's a Crow.
Also, I think it's rather mean of Masashi Kishimoto to make him a Weasel when he had betrayed the village to save his brother and the Village itself.
Anyways, enjoy.
From The Willow.

Sarutobi looked distinctively uncomfortable with the question and seemed to glance around as if searching for an answer in the living room.
"Well, you see.....Naruto....." The man began to sweat before he seemed to cave. " Your right eye, that is the reason why I have decided to appoint a bodyguard to your person." He blurted out.
Hei?
"My...eye? What about it?" Sure it was heavily scarred now, but what does that have to do with him being assigned a bodyguard from the ANBU crops no less.
The man stared blankly at him for a moment before he sighed.
"Never mind Naruto. Just know that you have Crow here to protect you. Now!" The man stood up quickly, excitement pouring from him in waves. "Why don't Crow and I help you move, mhm?" Before he could answer the man pulled another scroll from his robes and unsealed it, letting box after folded box fall to the ground without ceremony.
" Crow will take the kitchen, I'll do the living room and your bedroom's furniture, while you pack away the items that can be stowed away easily in your bedroom, okay?" The man ordered, ever the Hokage.
"Okay, jii-san." He answered uncertainly, rising to his feet and rounding the table to pick up a few boxes just as Crow vanished into the kitchen with his pile of boxes tugged safely under his arms.
Sarutobi was already packing items away into boxes that he had opened and unfolded when he entered his room. He wonders briefly why the old man was acting so strange.
Hey, Kurama? Any idea what he meant when he said Crow is going to be my bodyguard due to my right eye?
When in doubt, ask the hundreds of years old chakra beast in your head, he mused.
Yes, I do, kit. Kurama replied, yet didn't elaborate.
Care to explain, then? Naruto asked on the verge of frustration because he couldn't for the life of him figure out what the old man meant.
No, I do not, kit. The nine tails laughed, Naruto scowls as he opened up a box after unfolding it.
Why ever not? He grumbled mentally.
You'll figure it out eventually, little brat. Now get packing! The sooner you're finished the sooner we can get to decorating our new den! The puppy-like beast said. Naruto grunted, annoyed but obediently began to sort through the packable items and putting them into the boxes.

"I'm not moving an inch." Protested the pile of limbs that laid on the barren living room floor, his yellow hair a halo around his head.
