Praying to a sky all black
Looking at the stars like they finna talk back
Looking at my phone like she finna call back
But last night I feel like probably ended all that
'Cause by now she woulda sent a text in all caps
Then another one tryna take all back
Saying fuck you, I miss you or I hate you so much
'Cause girls only say "hate you" to the guys they love
As soon as I step out of my car Dre is the first face I see, his arm already extended out to me. I smile gently at him and hook my arm with his, as he leads both of us into the Banks residence. A forced smile makes its way to my lips as I stare at all the rich people around me. A mental note that I have to play nice or it can ruin my public image, resulting in bad business and looks for my team.
We get to backyard after I greet a few people and I glance around the crowd. My eyes go straight to Phil and Viv, quickly I make my way over to them. Before I reach them though, Viv notices me and opens her arms for a hug.
"Ah, Giovanna, lovely to see you as always. That dress is beautiful."
I smile towards Viv and let go of the hug she embraced me with. My eyes noticing Dre is gone from my side and probably off to talk with Geoffrey, I need a few things done and he can help.
"I just had to show out, Mama." I glance at Phil and hold my hand out for him to dap up. "How are you, Pops? Is the campaign going well, I could always tell the press I stand behind you?"
"I'm doing good, and the campaign is going as great as it can. The poll numbers are showing well for me." He smiles at me before continuing. "That word could come in handy later on, save that thought."
We continue to chat for awhile till a few high end business people come over. There eyes practically glaring at me making me really fight the urge to roll my eyes. Not my fault I can run my business better than can, and only at the age of 17 too.
The only thing I could do was dabble around with a few big CEOs. Dre suggested that it would be a good idea to talk to some of them. In case I every needed to venture off into other areas or ever need favors. It's best to build my businesses future at all events, the business of construction and real estate.
The smell of a philly cheese steak takes my mind away from the and I look towards the woman I'm talking to. My lips forming a forced smile as I hold up my hand.
"I'm sorry, Ms. Willis, but I'm a bit hungry. Would you mind if I go get some food and we talk later on?"
"Of course, sweetie. Wouldn't want you getting any skinnier."
She laugh slightly before walking off into the sea of people around us. As soon as she is out of sight I slouch slightly and roll my eyes, conversating with these people make me so tired. I head over to the smell of food to see a young boy around my age yelling towards Papi.
"Yo, matter of fact, man, burn them jawns, man!"
"Ya'know you don't really fit in around here, let me guess, your from Philly? Oh, Papi can you make me a Polish Boy?" I smile towards Papi to see him nod, then I look towards the boy.
He's fitted out to be a Bel Air kid, but the way he handles himself is way to like the big city. He reminds me of myself when I first came out here. His teeth shines in the sun light as he pulls a charming look towards me.
"You already know, don't really mess with none of this fancy stuff. Polish boy, huh? You a Cleveland girl?
"You know your cities, what's your name?"
"I'm Will, what about your name?"
"My names Giovanna, love the kicks, man. Looks good with the suit, caught my eye from a distance." I smirk towards him and he matches the look almost exactly, as he steps forward.
"Mhmm, well Giovanna, how about up close?" My hand makes his way to his chest and lays there barely touching him.
"Looks pretty fine up close, since you asked. Puts all these Bel Air men to shame."
"You know, your lookin pretty nice up close too." My smirk shifts into a smile as I lower my hand to his tie, straightening it out before pulling my hand away.
"As I should, Mr. Will."
"Order up, Philly and Gio."
I glance to Papi and take my plate with a small thank you towards him, to which he sends me a your welcome back. Taking the sandwich I take a bite, loving the way Papi knows how to make it. It taste just like how it did back home.
"Yo, good looking out, yo. Bout to tear this jawn up." Will laughs as he also takes a bite of his sandwich, immediately a smile crosses his face. "Ohhh, Ohhh. Hey, yo, this jawn crazy."
"Papi always knows how to make some good ass food, he ain't just fancy stuff." Will glances at me before looking back towards Papi.
"Hey, Pap, you making Philly real proud out here. You got family out here or something?" I laugh slightly at him as I start to eat my food again.
"Nah, Pittsburg."
"Philadelphia...the city of brotherly love and clogged arteries. You're a long way from home, Will, glad you made it in one piece." I turn around to see Carlton walking up to us with Spencer trailing not to far behind.
"What's up, Carlton, how you been, bro?"
Will daps Carlton up, but my eyes stay trained on Spencer. He seems to hold the same energy, but I raise my chin slightly higher looking back at Will, and also Carlton.
"Uh, good. Hey, Gio, I see you've met my cousin."
"Yeah I have." I gingerly touch Will's arm with a small smirk, showing off my white teeth. "You have a fine ass cousin and never told me. Anyway, it was great to see you again Carlton. Nice to meet you, Will, good to know I'm not the only big city folk round here."
Spinning on my heal, I turn to leave the group behind, completely ignoring Spencer in my wake. Will's words were the last thing I hear as I left them behind and made my way to go talk with Ms. Willis or find Dre. Whichever comes first at this point.
"Hey, yooo, she was cool as fuck, a baddie too. Yo, anyways, man how you been, bro? It's been a minute."
