Grace
I felt a lot of things after winning the game.
I mostly felt confused.
I mean I had gotten distracted, that was normal but something or someone had gotten my head out of the clouds.
I don't think it was any of my teamates because whenever I spaced out they had a habit of just ignoring me.
Realizing I was alone I pressed the heals of me palms to me face before pulling them away.
I couldn't think this much without falling over so I carefully sat down on the bench in the locker room.
My sister was going to pick me up later then she usually did so I had plenty of waiting time.
For at least the hundredth time today I tried to remember what had happened.
I spaced out, nothing, then me kicking the ball away.
The only reason I needed to know how I had gotten back into reality was because I needed to know so I could do it in the future.
The only problem was that no one I had talked to seemed to know what I was talking about.
I leaned back onto the cool lockers before letting out a long, tired sigh.
I rolled my shoulders back before grabbing my duffel bag that was by my feet deciding I was overthinking things.
I always showered at home so I walked outside still a little sweaty from earlier.
I walked out of the locker room pausing briefly to make sure I didn't run into anyone.
That was odd, a new habit maybe?
I continued outside and waited for a few minutes before I saw my sister's car pull next to the curb.
I walked over to the passenger seat and after opening the door I tossed my bag on the backseat.
The car was silent as my sister started the car and I put on my seatbelt not wanting to engage in any conversations,
"Tough day?" My sister asks looking right in front of her as she drove out of the school's parking lot.
"Yeah, you could say that." I replied looking out the window.
I liked to imagine sometimes that I was a detective.
As a detective I was always attentive, I noticed things no one else did.
But I was not a storybook detective, I was a human being that had a large issue with not paying attention to people and my surroundings.
I almost flinched when I felt something warm touch my hand.
I looked to see my sister had placed it on top of
mine.I smiled softly before I looked away.
Authors notes
• This is late, like super late 😅
• I'm going to rename the book to 'Spaced'
• I promise the next chapter will be longer
• I will also be changing the plot just a bit and the description, because the description will not match the plot.
• Thank you for putting up with me!
