"the exams are coming, i'm so ready for it." jeno said as he held chenle's hand, walking towards the cafeteria with renjun beside him as well.
"i'm quite nervous since i haven't been focusing a lot this semester." renjun spoke with a sigh followed after.
"you're gonna be fine renjun. the exam is a week away. you have a lot of time to prepare." chenle told the older in a soft tone in order to make renjun relax.
"i hope so..." the brown haired mumbled.
jeno used his free arm to hug renjun's and pulled him closer. "don't be so stressed out about it. you are going to do really great, i believe in you. now let's go eat. i'm starvinggg."
chenle chuckled at jeno's tone and renjun couldn't help but smile as well. they all went to order their food then found a table and sat down at the same pace. renjun was sitting alone facing the other two lovebirds but he enjoyed seeing them together so much. it made him laugh every time jeno got rejected by chenle in public.
"hello can i sit here?" suddenly, a female voice spoke up and the three of them all looked up at her. jeno and chenle sat still, trying to figure out who she was but renjun just looked back down at his meal.
"you will still sit here even if i say no anyway."
the girl chuckled and sat down beside renjun. "hi, i'm minjeong. i'm renjun's friend. we take med class together."
jeno parted his lips and nodded. "nice to meet you minjeong, i'm jeno."
"and i'm chenle."
"i know you chenle. you are the president of the theatre club and is in charge of the neo's show audience list." she said in an exciting voice.
"do you even go to the neo's shows?" renjun asked before taking a sip of his strawberry milk.
she suddenly stopped talking and gulped nervously. "you see..."
"she goes to every show. i remember her name now." chenle cut in, smiling innocently.
"oh?" renjun let out and minjeong suddenly started fake crying. she held onto the older's arm and pushed her face against it.
"i'm sorry your majesty. i know how much you hate jaemin and i still go to the show without telling you. i should've been honest." she ranted while the others looked at her weirdly.
"renjun hates jaemin? i thought--"
"that was the past. i don't hate him now. also, jeno went to the neo's shows without telling me, thinking that i don't know all the time but i never said anything. you're good, min. i am not mad at you."
"YOU KNEW?" jeno raised his voice, getting surprised by renjun's words.
the brown haired just smiled and shrugged as he started digging his food in again. minjeong let go of the older's arm and sat up straigh, looking at jeno. "so jeno, who is your favorite neo?" she looked so excited, asking that.
"jae--"
"oh my god, sameeeee." the younger shouted and jeno's face lit up. minjeong reached her hand to jeno for a high five and the older happily accepted it. "did you go to the show last week? i literally screamed when i saw his orange hair."
"i was not in the audience zone, so i couldn't scream." he laughed.
the younger furrowed her eyebrows and asked. "then where were you?"
"watching from the backstage with chenle. i got to organize the show with him that day, so i gave my spot to someone else."
"that is so cool. are you close with them? i really want to be their friends. they seem so fun."
"i'm kinda awkward with all of them except for hyuck." jeno laughed and continued eating his food.
the two continued their conversation while eating their meal at the same time. chenle, who was sitting beside jeno was just laughing at everything they say while renjun sat there, silently eating his food. by the time they all finished talking, renjun also finished eating his meal, so did chenle. the older took the last sip of his milk and stood up. "i'm going to the bathroom and i'll come back soon, so don't leave without me."
"i'll go with you." chenle immediately got up from his seat as he spoke.
"alright. be careful." jeno said, letting go of his lover's hand that he's been holding for the past minutes.
the two nodded at the same time and headed out of the cafeteria to the bathroom hall at the closest building to them. they were having a little chitchat and laughing with each other on the way there. once they got to the entrance, renjun spotted a familiar face standing in front of the mirror, fixing his hair while talking to another person with a familiar face as well. he suddenly grabbed chenle's wrist and pulled him to the side, hiding from the two people inside while also trying to eavesdrop their conversation.
"so, i guess you won."
"you weren't bad trying."
"hmmm yeah." "he likes you a lot dude. don't hurt him."
"i would never."
"glad to hear that. oh, our next session is starting soon. let's go?"
"alright."
footsteps were heard after and renjun just ran further away to hide behind a big tree. he then tried to peek at them until they both disappeared. he took a deep breath and went back to chenle, who was still standing in front of the restroom entrance.
"what were you doing? why were you hiding from jaemin and heeseung?" the younger asked with confusion written all over his face.
"did you see them getting along? aren't you surprised?"
"no, why? are they supposed to be fighting?"
"never mind. let's go."
it's 2am right now and i just finished this, so it's kinda messy but yeah i'll upload the next chapter first thing in the morning don't worry, more renmin boyfie moments are coming 🥺✊
