John's Apartment

John didn't really feel bad for his blatant rudeness to Remi, but he was wondering if he could have perhaps been a little less hostile, she did save him from the inconvenience of using his ability on low level elites after all.

John knew Remi was following him, likely thinking he'd go to the infirmary to be healed from his injuries. He'd lead her to the infirmary doors before using his ability to quickly traverse the halls leading to the schools exit, healing himself along the way. John had to admit, she was persistent if nothing else.

Setting his bag on the couch, John made himself a bowl of ramen before sitting down at his desk and began to work on the project. He wasn't particularly interested in putting a whole lot of effort into it, but he'd make sure it a solid B for Remi, it's the least he could do for saving him.

John had only been working for about and hour before his phone rang, making him glare at the device for its disturbance before quickly grabbing it and answering once he saw who was calling.

-"Uncle Cameron, whatever you found broken it wasn't me this time, I swear."

-"If I thought you had broken something I'd have come to Wellston to talk personally, now how is your training progressing?"

John's uncle Cameron was not one for small talk, or any talk for that matter, but once he learned of John and what had transpired at his old school he was adamant William allow Cameron to train John in his ability and the expectations of someone of his power and family connections.

-"Would it kill you to lighten up for once, uncle? My training is going fine, my standard enhancements have started to become quite powerful on their own. I've also started to grasp storing abilities for short periods of time like you showed me, but it's proving to be taxing on my aura reserves."

John continued his work while talking to his uncle about his ability. John knew why his uncle was so hard about his ability and why it was important he improve it, but he wished his uncle would care about more then his power level every so often.

-"Your aura channels are not the problem child, the issue is your insistence on keeping them amplified even when not in usage. You must learn how to control your aura flow more efficiently or you'll never get stronger than you are now, your aura reserves already dwarf most other high tiers."

-"You always say that, but how do I actually do it? I've tried de-amping them but every time I do I lose my grasp of the abilities signature and have to re grab it entirely."

John had been trying to do as Cameron instructed for months, each time running into the same issue.

-"You do not de-amp the abilities themselves, you de-amp your own aura. Simply reducing the aura flow to that ability is sufficient, the answers are simpler then you think."

Cameron sighed internally at John's stubbornness, it reminded him all to much of his sister, and his annoying brother-in-law.

"Your ability is not like mine, or anyone else in our family, John. As far as i know the only other person with your type of Aura manipulation is your mother."
