Listen closely,
Can't you hear?
She's thrashing and crashing around.
She screaming till she's bleeding, on the ground.
Look closely,
Can't you see?
She's crying, practically dying,
And no one's around?
You thought she was happy.
You thought she was fine.
You thought she was okay, until the day,
When they found her,
In an eternal slumber,
Not even true love could break,
Your legs start to shake,
When you hear that it wasn't a mistake,
She did it to herself,
But certainly not without help,
You remember all those times you called her a loser,
You say to yourself, "It was only a joke."
But the thing is,
After being told the same thing over and over again,
She stopped seeing you as a friend,
And started to think more of the end.
You didn't realize what you were doing,
Didn't mean any harm.
But you bent her until she broke,
And that's when she finally started to choke.
In the end though,
She took her own life,
But she left you something,
It was a note that she wrote
You couldn't have prepared for what she spoke.
"I apologize for the sadness I may bring,
But I need you to look and read.
You couldn't save me,
But you can help others that were like me.
Listen to their words carefully.
Even a sudden change of tone on the phone is a hint.
See them for themselves, not someone else.
Once you do,
You may find, it's quite easy to see,
The hurt, the pain, the struggle, they try to hide.
And finally, once you do those things,
Talk to them,
And hopefully,
You'll give them a reason to,
Breathe."
