"It'll be nice to see everyone again," said Hermione to Harry and Ron.
Hermione looked around the small compartment thinking about all the classes she wanted to take, potions, muggle studies (which, thankfully had rejoined the school) and many more.
"I guess it will be, I just can't wait," said Ron sarcastically," detention, rules and homework, tons of fun."
Hermione rolled her eyes and turned to look out the window as the steam from the train swept past the window.
"Mind if I join you?" Came Luna's dreamy voice from the compartments sliding door.
Hermione nodded and Luna took a seat facing Ron and Hermione.
"It's a pity that Ginny couldn't join us," said Harry sullenly.
"I told you," said Ron," she is a prefect, she has duties."
"On that thought, don't you guys have your prefect duties."
Hermione rolled her eyes yet again and turned to Harry," I have told you already, Professor Mcgonagall let us off, since we need to have time to do all our homework."
Luna smiled and looked out the window," it's beautiful, the countryside, green rolling hills. You can see something similar to this if you look outside from my little bedroom window," Luna smiled.
Soon they heard the whistle of the train slowing down.
"Where here,"said Hermione excitedly.
They boarded off the express and climbed onto the Thestrals drawn carriages. By now everyone could see them, since the battle of Hogwarts everyone saw someone die. Hermione looked at the beautiful black horse bucking and snorting, thinking of when she thought Luna and Harry were crazy when they said that horse pulled the carriages in their fifth year. Hermione slowly walked off the carriage and into the entrance hall. Hermine followed Harry and Ron up all the stairs and muttered,"Gillyweed."
Hermione walked up the stairs to her dormitory and opened her trunk. She turned around hearing sniffling and looked to see Lavender Brown attempting to hold back tears. Hermione sat down beside Lavender. She didn't really like Lavender but she was crying so she felt she might need a bit of reassurance.
"Lavender, what's wrong?" Hermione asked.
Lavender looked away, now the tears were really starting to fall," my parents, they didn't want me to come back to Hogwarts. They want me to get job, they said my last year was relatively crude, but they said I still got something out of it. What's more is a refused to select the job they wanted me to have. They wanted me to be some sort of correspondent for the Ministry, I don't, I have no idea what I want to be," cried Lavender.
Hermione patted Lavender's shoulder, then she said that if she were around other people having fun maybe she will feel better, so Lavender and Hermione walked together to the great hall. As they were walking she spotted a familiar face walking in the opposite direction. Hermione looked at him and he looked back.
"Crying like a wimp is she," sneered Draco Malfoy.
Hermione blared at Malfoy," you dare speak like that, you were upset all the time for the past two years."
"What, because the Dark Lord was making me do horrible things."
Hermione's face contorted with rage, and she grabbed Lavender's hand and stride away, half dragging Lavender along.
When Hermione entered the hall she found Ron and Harry sitting there looking expectantly at the front of the room.
"Malfoy, being sour as always. Thought hid lighten the mood since his father quit the ministry and is living in shame."
Harry turned to look at her but Ron still continued to stare," what's wrong with him?" Hermione gestured to Ron.
"Hasn't eaten anything since breakfast at the Burrow. Mrs Weasley told him to cut down on all the food he was eating, so he didn't get anything on the train. He was really disappointed since they had a pretty good looking packet of Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans," replied Harry.
Hermione looked at him and turned to the front of the room to hear Professor Mcgonagall calling for attention.
"Since last year the school is spick and span. Everything as turned back to normal and all the teachers are excited to teach once again. I would like to introduce Professor Aurelia Soy," said Mcgonagall, gesturing to a young women who had flouncy strawberry locks," I would all like you to welcome her warmly, she will be our new defence against the dark arts teacher."
A crescendo of applauses swept through the room.
"I now invite you to feast about the delicacies we have prepared for you this evening," Professor Mcgonagall invited.
Ron gave a leap of joy and dug in.
"I don't think he can handle it," Hermione said laughing.
Harry nodded in agreement before he to dug in.

Later that night Hermione and Ron sat snuggled up close to together whilst Harry sat there staring out the room, occasionally looking at them with a look of amusement. Hermione glared at him and he backed away up to the boys dormitory. All of a sudden and owl fluttered into the room and perched itself on the armrest closest to Hermione. She gently took on the letter and opened it.

Dear Miss Granger,
I am sorry to bother you so late in the night, I invite you to come down to my office please for a little chat. I wish you to come alone.
Professor Mcgonagall.
P.S. My favourite treat is chocolate frogs.

Ron leaned over Hermione shoulder and stared at the letter," what do you think she wants?"
Hermione looked at him and shrugged. She gathered her things, and since she was still dressed, headed to the headmistress.
