Summary: Cyrus feels slightly nervous whenever Jonah is around. Unfortunately, Jonah has started to notice something is up.
Cyrus always loved hanging out with Buffy and Andi. The Good Hair Crew didn't have secrets, nor did they ever feel the need to hide anything.
Over the last few weeks, Jonah had been getting closer to the group. He was fond of all three of them and it felt nice to have some actual friends for a change.
At lunch, Cyrus was sat with Andi and Buffy as usual, but he had been very agitated that morning, and had felt more uncomfortable with every minute that passed.
Andi: Are you okay Cyrus?
Cyrus: Y-yeah, I'm fine.
Buffy: Clearly you aren't, so stop lying.
Deep down, Cyrus knew he wouldn't be able to continue acting this way. He was not the sort of person to keep things bottled up, so it was time to talk.
Cyrus: Do you really wanna know?
Andi: Well, of course we do.
Cyrus: It's Jonah.
Buffy: What about him? I thought you really liked him?
Cyrus: I do, and that's the problem. I can't keep my feelings so subtle much longer, and I think he'll work out what's happening.
Andi: Wouldn't that be a good thing though?
Buffy: It would mean you can live a fully honest life.
He took a few seconds to think about what he needed to do. It was fair to say that Jonah made Cyrus lose focus, not that it was necessarily a bad thing. His heart kept glowing and skipping a beat whenever he thought about Jonah.
Andi: You might not have time to think about that.
Cyrus: What?
Buffy: Jonah's coming over right now.
To Cyrus' horror, Jonah was walking towards him rapidly. He was glad that Jonah wanted to hang out, yet sometimes he wished he could disappear for a moment.
Jonah: Hey guys!
Andi: Hi.
Buffy: Hey there.
It hadn't escaped Jonah's notice that Cyrus hadn't greeted him. He was a little bit hurt and worried that he had done something to offend Cyrus.
Jonah: Hello Cy-guy.
Cyrus: H-hi Jojo.
Jonah: Are you okay?
Cyrus: Me? I'm fine.
There was an awkward silence between them as Jonah tried to figure out what was wrong with Cyrus. He knew that his best friend was lying.
Jonah: Hey, do you wanna go to The Spoon later?
Cyrus: I... I don't know Jonah.
Jonah: Please come Cyrus, it won't be any fun without you.
Cyrus: Well, I...
Sighing in defeat, Jonah turned around and walked away. Cyrus felt overwhelming guilt run through his soul. He had never seen Jonah so disappointed before.
Andi: Cyrus, I think you need to go and hang out with him.
Cyrus: But, what if he doesn't want to talk to me again?
Buffy: Knowing how he is, I think he would always talk to you.
Cyrus: And you honestly believe that?
Buffy: Yes I do, and you should too.
Andi: Not only should you believe it, you should believe in yourself too.
Cyrus: Well, I guess I'm going with Jonah to The Spoon then.
Buffy: Good, and stop worrying about it.
Andi: I promise that everything will be fine.
Cyrus: Thanks guys.
Whilst he felt reassured by his friends' encouragement, Cyrus was starting to get worried. He didn't want to embarrass himself in front of Jonah. That would destroy him, and also make life much more difficult than it needed to be.
I hope you enjoyed this.
I will write the next part soon.
