Leaning back against his car, a soft smile danced across Lindsey's face. "Skipping class, are we?" He teased as he watched her trail down the sidewalk.
She had on a floral maxi skirt, a shawl wrapped around her shoulders, and platform sandals as her long blonde hair lay in natural curls. She was just one of a kind.
"Not soon enough." She gave him a set of wide eyes as she held up a couple of strands of hair that had pink play-Doh caked at the ends.
Pushing himself away from the car, he creased a brow as he led the way to the passenger side. "That good of a day, huh?" He pulled open the door, giving her a playful wink.
She stared at him for a moment- suddenly reminding herself that he didn't know her the way she knew him... it kind of bothered her.
There had always been this safe feeling that Lindsey held for her. He had known her before everything big had ever happened in her life. They had been together through it all- the struggle, the success, money, the fame...The good, the bad and everything in between.
It had always been the two of them, and to think that he had no idea, really bothered her.
Holding back the urge to get a little emotional, Stevie patted his chest lightly. "It can only get better from here." She slipped into the seat of the Porsche a second later, not even giving it a second thought.
There was a pull there- a connection that was undeniable, for the both of them.
He smirked softly, shutting the door before he ventured back around the car. "Top up, or down?" He wondered as he slid into the drivers seat.
She shrugged a shoulder, flipping down the visor to look at herself in the mirror. "My hair is already crazy, so...." Stevie rolled her eyes lightly as she begun fishing around in her purse to find a clip.
"You look great." He couldn't help but compliment her- he thought she was stunning.
She batted her eyelashes unintentionally... She missed him so much. "You're making me blush." She admitted with a very sheepish laugh.
Lindsey returned the smile, watching as she twisted her long hair back to clip in place. "What should we do?" He wondered, reaching up to click the button that released the soft top.
"Hmm," she thought about it for a second- not wanting to rush her time with him in the slightest. "It's such a nice day..." her lips turned up as she stared at him out of the corner of her eye.
He nodded his head in agreement, finding her incredibly adorable. "There's this really cool spot up the coast a little ways..." he lingered, not sure how far she was willing to go. "It's gorgeous there, especially at sunset." He added as his deep blue eyes melted right into those captivating brown orbs.
He didn't know what it was about her, but she was familiar to him... It felt like he had known her longer than just a couple of days, which was a bizarre feeling to him.
"I think that sounds like a lot of fun." She assured as she pulled the seat belt buckle around herself.

They drove for two hours- two hours that was completely filled with conversation and light music.
For Lindsey it was fascinating- she was fascinating. She was funny, pretty, had a great taste in music, ideas, and there was just never a dull moment with her.
And for Stevie, it felt like a little sliver of pure happiness... She felt young again. It was like being twenty- something, still getting to know him and falling in love all over again.
He was Lindsey... He was the Lindsey that she had once dreamt of sharing a life with.
"Be careful." One of her hands fell on his back, making sure he wasn't going to drop the pizza, or his guitar as she followed him down the steps that separated the sand from the parking lot.
He chuckled lightly as he glanced back at her.
She had the hem of her skirt and the bottle of red wine in one hand as a couple of loose curls framed her face... it was too soon to feel what he was feeling for her.
"So..." she waited until they had found the perfect spot, where they threw down a blanket before she finally started up another conversation. "Your wife isn't going to wonder where you are?" Stevie half smirked as she worked on opening the bottle.
She still couldn't wrap her head around who he was married to... It was so weird.
They could hardly stand one another in real life, or at least that's what they both acted like, but she wasn't so sure anymore.
Deep down, out of all the friends she had thought he would have married, her money would have really been on Christine...
"Sometimes an evening apart isn't the worst thing in the world." He said that as if he was out having a couple of beers with some old friends... "What about you? Your old man gonna wonder what you're up to?" He held out one of the wine glasses, smiling lightly as she poured some in.
"Who knows." She was sure that he would probably question it, but she had always been pretty good at coming up with excuses... She could conquer up quite the tale to get her out of trouble. "But it's worth it." Stevie's lips turned up- this crooked little smirk marking her face.
He had always been worth it to her... All the drama, the hassle, the lies and the anger had always been worth it.
Breaking the rules doesn't seem that bad when the reason feels more moral than anything else ever could.
Biting down on the side of his cheek, he let out a laugh. "I think so, too." He assured as he swirled his glass around slowly.
She paused for a second, looking into those big blue eyes for awhile before she replied. "Are you gonna play for me?" She bit down on her lower lip, the sun beating down on her in the most perfect way.
She was just so beautiful.
"I need a singer..." he lingered as he cracked the corners of his lips lightly. "You start us off," Lindsey raised a brow casually, still staring over at her intently. "You gotta pick one that I'm going to know, though." He added, which caused them both to chuckle.
With a soft sigh, she sank back, allowing one hand to fall in the sand in order to hold herself up. "All the leaves are brown..." she began singing in a gentle tone as her eyes fell closed to drift back in time.
