There seemed to be a problem with Taehyung's plan.

Back then, things were much simpler. They were young and needed an escape. Giggles between pecks, the comfort of holding someone's hand, petting each other's hair and laughing about it. They were teenagers in need of affection.

  It's so different now.

They aren't kids with a crush. They aren't in high school anymore. Jungkook and Taehyung were both grown men and the older of the two isn't ignorant— he has eyes and he can see Jeon Jungkook nearly every day. Jungkook has grown into a fine man. Sharp jaw, piercing eyes, sexy clothes, deeper voice, the tattoos and piercings catching everyone's eyes, and the muscles he'd gained throughout the years. Kim Taehyung is no fool.

Jungkook is hot as fuck now.

What used to be an adorable and innocent little maknae turned into that and more; he was a handsome man and he no longer had the innocence he once had. He'd seen things, done things, and learned a lot more than what he knew back then.

Just as promised, the two youngest began immediately with their promise to act as normal.

Taehyung's problem started when Jungkook picked him up off the floor with no struggle at all, completely manhandling him. His problem continued every time Jungkook's hand would brush against any part of his body. It continued every time they'd accidentally lock eyes or as Jimin teased the two for having an 'awkward heart-to-heart' the other day.

  If only Jimin knew.

If only anyone knew, just how troubled Taehyung's mind felt. There seemed to be a crack in his plan— like a crack in a glass bottle filled with water. Eventually, that water would all be poured out. Eventually, Taehyung felt like he'd lose it.

What the hell was Jeon Jungkook's problem? He walks around with his chin held higher than ever every time he's near Taehyung and something about it feels odd. He knew that Jungkook was good-looking and everyone swoons over him, but why did he so suddenly feel trapped with the minds of those people who thought that?

Because he's hotter than ever and every time he touches me, I feel like I might die.

Taehyung shuddered as he felt a pair of arms wrap around him.

Without a single word said to him, he was moved to the side. The hands around his waist released him and before he could react, Jungkook was stepping by him.  Taehyung hadn't even noticed that he was standing in the way— they were getting ready to perform Dynamite and he could hardly focus because one, Yoongi was gone for his shoulder surgery and two, Jungkook was wearing a dark blue suit that looked so good on him— damnit.

  "Why do you keep sighing?"

He waved off Hoseok's question. "Nothing. Just tired."

——

  It was finally Christmas day.

Usually, they spend Christmas together or sometimes by themselves, but this year Yoongi wasn't there and they were kind of down about it. Despite how shitty it seemed to feel, Taehyung could speak for himself when he says that his Christmas became better by one simple gesture.

  "Merry Christmas, Taehyungie hyung."

Jungkook had knocked on his door with a regular-sized gift bag in his hand, holding it up immediately as the door was opened. Sometimes the members don't buy each other gifts at all or sometimes they do, but Taehyung wasn't expecting Jungkook to buy him anything at all— he never usually does.

"You bought me something?" he asked as he held his hands out for it, taking the bag with a gleaming look on his face. Jungkook chewed at his bottom lip as he nodded. "Ah, but I didn't get you guys anything because Yoongi hyung isn't here..."
