Every time.Jungkook would somehow run away every single time.
Here's how it went: Taehyung felt bad— awful— after Jungkook left him alone in the studio room. He wanted to apologize, though he wasn't sure what for just then. It took him a couple of days to realize what he wanted to apologize for; Jungkook wasn't just kidding when he tried to hold his hand.
It took a bit of talking with Jimin to realize why Jungkook would so abruptly leave after that incident.
"You dummy, why did you move your hand? He obviously wasn't joking."
Jimin is too honest sometimes, so Taehyung was easily convinced. Plus, why would Jungkook run away if he was just kidding about it? Clearly, Taehyung was told a lie and clearly, Jungkook had been avoiding him that entire week.
From being in their shared house to being with each other in public, Taehyung tried his hardest to try and talk to Jungkook and Jungkook tried his hardest to completely avoid that. At times Taehyung felt like he should just take a hint and give up, but at other times he'd find Jungkook's eyes on him from across the room, then quickly look away right after being caught.
Taehyung was sure now.
Before, he'd wondered whether Jungkook felt the same way as him. He kept wondering if Jungkook thought about him just like he thought about Jungkook. Now he knows, he thinks.
His trick to catch Jungkook was to get him at a time when he couldn't avoid seeing him at all. Quickly, he brushed his teeth and washed his face for the night before he barged right through Jungkook's bedroom door, instantly locking eyes with the youngest, who was sitting up in his bed with his phone close to his face. Slowly, he dropped his hands to his lap.
"Hyung?"
Taehyung closed the door and mentally cheered to himself while also mentally cursing because he had no clue what he'd say now that he finally trapped Jungkook.
"You've been ignoring me," he stated just as he stepped up to Jungkook's bed. Again, Jungkook avoided eye contact as Taehyung sat down in front of him.
"I haven't ignored you."
"You avoided me." He crossed his legs and faced Jungkook completely. Jungkook did the same, crossing his legs and finally looking back at the older. He looked normal, like he'd done nothing wrong to begin with.
"I don't know what you're talking..." Jungkook's words faded into nothing as Taehyung reached out for Jungkook's hand and brought it to his lap. As Taehyung was about to intertwine their fingers, Jungkook pulled away. "Why? What?" He refused eye contact again. Taehyung persisted, though. He reached for Jungkook's hand again, this time not letting Jungkook go— not that he pulled away this time. Their fingers slid between each other and their palms met, finally holding hands in the right way.
Third time's a charm.
"Why?" Jungkook asked again.
"Why? Because of last time," Taehyung truthfully told him. "In the studio, you tried to hold my hand and—"
"It's whatever—"
"You got upset because I didn't let you," Taehyung finished. Jungkook sighed, then looked down at their hands as he brought them further to his own lap. Quietly, he pressed his thumb gently against Taehyung's hand. "I felt bad when you left the studio."
Jungkook's blank expression turned to a troubled one, his eyebrows furrowing and his lips set into a pout. Slowly, he lifted his chin and met Taehyung's eyes and leaned in a bit. Taehyung held his breath the closer Jungkook got. "Well." Jungkook's eyes were prettier up so close. "Maybe I feel bad for the both of us.
He leaned back away, letting Taehyung catch his breath, and he also pulled his hand away from Taehyung's hold again.
"Jungkook... You asked me if I remember eating ramen together all those times."
Jungkook tilted his head, confused. "Yeah..?"
Taehyung mirrored him, tilting his head in the opposite direction, but Jungkook straightened back up upon realizing. A soft sigh left Taehyung as he scanned Jungkook's face, eventually letting his gaze fall to his lips. Small, pretty, pink— he remembered oh, so well.
"My turn to ask." He looked up into Jungkook's eyes, which were already set on his, a bit wide and confused. "Do you remember all those times we used to kiss?"
He could hear Jungkook take in one last breath, inhaling just before he stopped breathing at all. Silence grew, but Jungkook's eyes fell to his lips as well and Taehyung knew what he'd done by asking that. He knew what he did by holding Jungkook's hand and he knew what he did by coming in here to begin with.
Jungkook's lips parted slightly as Taehyung looked down at them. "Hyung," he let out shakily. Taehyung looked back up into his eyes, but Jungkook refused to look away from his lips. "I remember like it was yesterday."
His hands were quick to wrap around Taehyung's neck and pull him in, closing the gap between their lips.
They hummed into the kiss and Taehyung rested his hands on Jungkook's t-shirt, pulling him in more. Jungkook kissed less gently and more needily, their hands holding so closely and their breathing in sync, but so harsh and uneven. Taehyung hardly could breathe, like Jungkook stole the breath from him, but as Jungkook pulled him in so needily, he couldn't help but get so worked up.
Jungkook's hands roamed through his hair, onto his jaw, his cheek— anywhere to keep Taehyung just where he wanted him to be, and Taehyung simply held onto the fabric of Jungkook's clothes and let him take over, despite being the instigator. Jungkook always knew what he wanted and they always let him have what he wanted, just how he wanted. Right now, he wanted Taehyung.
But...
Jungkook crawled up onto Taehyung and began pushing him back, Taehyung's back landing onto the lower part of the bed. He straddled Taehyung's waist and continued kissing him, continued taking what he wanted. He took more and more, his hands releasing the hold on his jaw and soon sliding down to his shoulders, then tickling Taehyung's skin as he slowly grazed down his arms, his fingertips cold.
He found Taehyung's hands and held both of them, pulling away from his lips only for a moment so that he could see. Jungkook intertwined their fingers and then leaned back into Taehyung, his lips hot and needy— but then Jungkook lifted their hands, pinning Taehyung's above his head—
Oh.
It was only then that Taehyung realized just how different this was. This wasn't a mere peck, a little kiss to giggle over after it was done with. They were pouring their all into this kiss and Jungkook was pinning his hands above him, leaving kitten licks on Taehyung's lips— they'd never gone so far.
"Mm—" Jungkook released their kiss as Taehyung tried to speak— "Jungkookie, this is nothing like I remember."
Jungkook's chest was rising and falling with every harsh breath. "We needed new memories anyways." Again, Jungkook leaned in for a kiss, except this time it was just a peck. "What do we do now hyung?" He sat back up and pulled their hands above Taehyung's chest, still holding on.
Taehyung wanted this a million times over.
"We could keep making these types of memories if you want to," Taehyung said. "Just if you wanted to, you know." They both smiled at each other, loving the thought.
"You're so cheesy." Still, Jungkook placed another sweet, lingering peck onto his lips. Taehyung felt like he was in heaven now. "Let's make memories forever, hyung."
