It All Started with Coffee

Chapter 1 ~~ The First Day

It was the first day of Athens Preparatory School in Georgia when junior AP student, Ian Madden, tripped out of his car in a hurry. He stumbled out as his best friend, Jackson Asher (Jack), ran for the main entrance.

"The Bell!" said Jack, still running and panting.
Ian had 1st, 3rd, and 7th, period with the girl he's liked since preschool, Cameron West. They used to be best friends until Cameron became one of the popular, preppy girls. She wouldn' t strike you as the I-spend-2-hours-a-day-on-my-hair-and-makeup kind of girl. She used to be a tomboy who mostly wore her hazelnut brown silky hair in a messy ponytail. In Ians' eyes she was the most beautiful girl he has ever laid his green eyes on.

"Dude I can't believe I'm in so many of her classes!," Ian cried while trying to catch his breath from running up the stairs to the entrance. He was in AP History, Physical Education, and AP English with her. He only took 2 AP classes because he's already bad enough at math and he doesn't like French to begin with.
Once Ian reaches his first period, in room 214 with Mr. Pancherini scans the room to find Cameron sitting at the closest seat to the window gazing at the unusually-large oak trees. Ian thought that the main reason she always sat by the window was because she didn't want to get bored and just stare at the teacher the whole time.

Ian got the closest seat to her which was the one to the right of her. They haven't really talked since seventh grade when they got partnered up for a project in 9th grade.
They were in Freshmen Social Studies when Cameron's two friends, Lexi Perez and Claire Smith, skipped school to get their nails done with their weekly allowance which was like $200. They were rich. Their dads are the ones who invented the Lenovo computer company.

It was at lunch time when Ian met up with Jack in the lunch line when he saw Cameron walk into the bright prison-like cafeteria. They were serving burritos for lunch and Ian got a chocolate milk and an apple because he isn't that big of a fan of their burritos.
"Dude there's Claire! Do I look good bro?" asked Jack.
"You look fine, but fix your hair. You look like you have a major case of dandruff."
Jasck had liked Clair ever since latest year when they talked to each other during AP Science. Of course Jason likes her because he likes every girl he lays his eyes on.

Ian got a seat next to Cameron yet again during AP History and watched her as she gazed out the big window with her hair in a beach wave type style. Mr. Jenkins had his big name on the chalkboard next to what he wanted to do during this class. It wasn't a lot since it was only the first day of school.
Ian got up the courage to write a note to Cameron while Mr. Jenkins was turned to the chalkboard letting everyone see his wedgie.
The note had said:
Hey, how have things been? We haven't talked in a while and I think it would be fun if we were to catch up sometime!
Ian folded the note and tossed it onto her desk right before Mr. Jenkins turned around. Cameron began unfolding the note and began reading it. He couldn't tell by her facial expressions whether she was intrigued or disgusted.
Cameron took out her Papermate Inkjoy gel pen and began writing on the back of the sticky note. The only reason Ian knew what kind of pen it was is because she only used Papermate products most of the time. The sticky not had read:
Yeah! It's been so long since we've talked! How about I text you and we can meet up for coffee at Joes. Your number is still the same, right?
Joy had fluttered through Ian's body when he read the note. He wrote his number on a separate piece of paper and gave it to her just in case. Now Ian actually had something to look forward to after school today instead of just his parents repeatedly interrogating him about his day.
