Chapter 3

This morning I woke up to the smell of German Pancakes with boysenberry syrup. My most favoritest breakfast of all time.

I slipped my slippers on pulled my hair back into a loose pony tail and headed downstairs. The first thing that I saw when I went around the corner was my parents and little brother, Camden, with huge smiles on their faces. Well, mostly my parents, Camden looked mostly jealous. Was that a good sign. Then I noticed it.

“WHERE DID YOU GET THIS??!!” My traveling journal was on the table laid open. From what I could see everything SEEEMED to be there. “WHY DID YOU GUYS TAKE THIS!!” I grabbed the book and hugged it to my chest. I could feel hot tears start to stream down my face. My mom ran over and hugged me. I wanted to pull away but I couldn’t. I didn’t want to hurt my mom’s feelings and I needed a hug.

“Your father and I know how much you want to travel, and last we did come in your room and we DID take your book but, as we were looking though we decided…..” she looked over at dad. My mind started to race. The possibilities were endless….. What did they decide?

My dad smiled as he started to cry too. The first thing I could think of was,’ They’re going to put me down, just like a dog! They’re going to put me out of my misery.’

“Your mom and I decided to let you and Bailey go to all of these places. Since your…. Complications, we decide that it would be best to let you… live the rest of your life doing what you’ve always wanted to do.” He smiled and ran over to mom and I as he wrapped his giant muscular arms around us. Camden came over too.

My emotions went from shock to tears to my fangirling mode. I started jumping up and down and screaming. “I have to call Bailey!”

“We already did!” my mom said as she smiled to see me so excited. "Her parents said that it would be wonderful for you two to do that and they are going to help pay from some of the costs as well."

I'm beyond excited! BAILEY AND I GOING ON A YOLO TRAVELING EXPREIENCE!! This is what I have been waiting for my whole life! and it was actually happening.

Then I remembered. “What about school?” I questioned. It didn’t really matter for me but for Bailey that was a different story. “I’m glad you brought this up,” my mom said. “We’ve talked to the school and the district, and we told them about the situation and since Bailey has such wonderful grades they decided to let her off.” I was so happy to hear this! We wouldn’t have to worry about school work or anything for our trip! This is amazing!

“One more thing before you go get ready for your trip, the school has requested that you send them pictures and videos of what you’re doing. They’re going to have an assembly every Friday in commemoration to you and Bailey,” as my parents told me this I started to cry. That was probably the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me. I didn’t think that anyone cared. Maybe my story would reach the ears of Ellen DeGeneres and Bailey and I could be on the show!

I hugged my parents and Camden and ran upstairs to get ready for the experience of a life time.
