Chapter 2: Tanjiro Kamado, No More

Tanjiro POV:

I ran, and ran, and ran, and ran, and ran as fast as I could to escape that hellhole. They were onto me right now. I couldn't believe it! Why would they blame me? Thank gods I have the diary on me and the sword too. I can't believe they would betray me like this! As the thought of Kanao cheating on him made tears threaten to fall. 'NO! You mustn't think about it! The past is the past. I WILL get my revenge even if it is the last thing I do!' thought Tanjiro.

As he thinks about his past he decided to change his name to Moeru Taiyo as it means Burning Sun. This was because his hatred to the demons and the demon slayer corp was like the sun. It is always burning bright. As he finished thinking, he spotted a nearby village and decided to head there to get his wounds checked up and protect that village and train his breathing techniques.

Demon Slayer Corp PoV

Nezuko was wandering around at the Butterfly Mansion and decided to look into her former brother's room. Inside the room was a futon, a chair, a desk, with a few books and papers and a few pens. A small layer of dust covers the desk. It was quite abandoned. Nezuko even kinda felt bad for her big brother. 'No, you mustn't think of that! He was the reason our family got killed. He didn't even try to help us, he was a traitor.' Nezuko thought to herself.

Then what peaked her interest was a diary lying beside his desk. It was probably his daily diary. She decided to inform the corp and then together with them, read the entire diary to prove that he could be a threat.

After Nezuko called a Hashira Meeting

Nezuko decides to open and read the latest entry of the diary. "You may start my child." Kagaya gives permission for Nezuko to read the diary. It starts off:

Dear Diary,
Today will be my last entry before I go on a trip. Yesterday night, I had a weird dream. A man named Yorrichi claimed to be my ancestor. He told me that if I wanted to get stronger, I need to read the diary that holds all the information to the key of what I called "Hinokami Kagura". So I decided to go on a trip to our old house and seek a diary. This old man told me that I could not tell anyone that I had to go seek the diary or else all hope will be lost. So I didn't. Hope to write soon in a few days. Goodbye.

   After this, they all start tearing up a bit. "Onii-Chan, I'm so sorry." Nezuko cried after reading the diary. The Hashira's found out that he was innocent. All of them felt very guilty. "I can't believe I did that to my bestie..." Muichiro states sadly. They all cried in despair. "I can't believe I would do that to an innocent child." Kagaya sadly exclaims.

   Tanjiro/Taiyo PoV
   'I can't believe those bastards.' Taiyo thought now as he changed his name. 'I can't believe Kanao would cheat on me. I can't believe they didn't believe in me. But... whatever. I'm not their hero anyways. I am now Moeru Taiyo. The killer of all. I will slay anyone who gets in my path. Time to get stronger.' Taiyo decides to be near the village.

   He opens up the diary and starts reading. After reading, he decides to train his so-called sun breathing and moon breathing to the max. He trained so hard that he began coughing out blood. That was how determined he was to kill Muzan and the Demon Slayer Corp.*Timeskip 3 months later* "Sun breathing 13th form: Solar Cycle!" Tanjiro yells as he performs all 13 forms in quick succession. Tanjiro was panting a little bit. It took a toll of using it so he hardly ever uses it. He has activated the demon slayer mark and won't die by the age of 25 because of his heritage.

   He hardly ever expresses emotion. Soon, Moeru Taiyo should be a feared name to the demons and demon slayers. While in these months, he was training relentlessly. The diary he got had a total of 1,000 pages. Each page specifically teaches him a specific form of a specific breath in very good detail. He usually trained 24/7, hardly eating or sleeping. He trained so hard that he coughed up blood and could hardly even feel his body. Let's describe him. He has been through loads of quests these 3 months. He uses a nichirin polearm as a main weapon and uses an nichirin sword with cracks on his blade. It is black and the cracks were red, orange, and yellow like the sun itself was in the blade. He still wore a checkered haori and used his old demon slayer uniform but instead of the word destroy it would be sun. He had his demon slayer mark activated 24/7 and has a blue spider lily on his right ear. He is cocky and knows he can protect it so he just puts it on his ear. He has very long burgundy hair (like in the anime) but his eyes were darker red and before as crimson red. It was probably presumed to be betrayal and stuff like that. At first people thought he was a girl not a boy.

  He heard a rustle behind the bushes and took his sword out. "Come out, come out wherever you are," he sang. The betrayal made him kind of insane and dull+boring but with his demon slayer mark he hardly talks anyways. And even when he talks,he talks in short sentences.

"Ummmmmm, hello. I'm the love hashira from the demon slayer corp. I was sent here on a mission and heard there was an ex-slayer here. I'm sorry for what happened! We found you were innocent." Mitsuri starts.

 "... No matter, you're a slayer. I will kill you." Tanjiro coldy states as he gets into a flawless stance. Mitsuri's eyes widened. His stance was perfect. There was no flaws in it.

 "Sun breathing, first form: dance." Taiyo whispers as he delivers a high powered slash downwards to mitsuri's shoulder. She barely dodged it as she pulled out her own sword.

 "Love breathing, second form: love pangs." Mitsuri yells as she unleashes many powerful whip slashes to hit Taiyo.

 "Sun breathing, fourth form: burning bones, summer sun." Taiyo unleashes a high circular slash to defend incoming attacks. As he does this Mitsuri was in awe.

How can one this young have this much power?' she thought. 'I need to end this.' "I'm sorry, Tanjiro-kun. But you have attacked me. Love breathing, final form: cat-legged winds of love!" She twirls upside-down and creates multiple extending slashing attacks before retracting it and extending it again, all within a very short amount of time. But little did she know that what she hit was an after image.

 'Argh, I can't avoid this but... Sun breathing, eleventh form: fake rainbow.' he thought. He performed high speed rotations and created an after image. He disappeared in the shadows and waited for her to realize.

"I'm sorry, wait... why did you disappear?" she started as her eyes widened in realization but it was too late...

"Water breathing, striking tide." Taiyo appeared out of nowhere and sliced through her stomach.

 "Ack!" she yelled in agony as she spat out blood. "Here are some bandages. I'm only sparing you to inform the corp that the next time only one will come out alive. Tell the corp that I, Moeru Taiyo, will be the bane of Demons and Demon Slayers." Taiyo coldy informs Mitsuri.

 "But, aren't you Tanjiro Kamado?" she asked but he had already disappeared.
