shadow8of8the8starsChapter 2 (Star Shadow's)
A month after accusing Tanjiro, Nezuko decided to search his room, once again. Opening the door, she was met with the same blank walls and floor. The bed still had the grayish covers, the desk still had a lamp, a few pens, notebooks and papers on it. The cupboards were never opened by anyone other than Tanjiro, nobody had the heart or mental stability to do it.
Even if attacking him went well and it was justified, Nezuko still felt kind of bad. Tanjiro was her brother after all.
But he betrayed the Corp.
Looking at the cupboards, she noticed that a few drawers were slightly open, burned, destroyed or a mix of all. There were a few papers in similar-but-worse condition also. She guessed that nobody tried fixing anything in primarily-his room, other than the ceiling and the walls.
Sighing, Nezuko walked over to the burned part of the desk, picking up all the papers she could see and putting them into one of the notebooks on top of it. She did that just to search through all of it when she wasn't grieving.
She eventually ended up searching most of the room for any papers that were visible and collecting them into the empty notebook. She guessed that it was his diary.
She'll read it later, there's probably nothing that would be useful at the moment.
An hour and a few minutes later she walked out of the room, the diary full of pieces of paper left on the desk, in a way that one would think someone was about to read.
HEE-HEE
It was around two months after the Demon Slayer Corp. banished Tanjiro, but he still couldn't get over it.
He already read the diary which was over 700 pages, and practiced every breathing style which was described in it. He lived in that cave, finding it quite comfortable. He found a small village not far away from where he was staying.
But still, he wanted more.
Over those two months Tanjiro sorted out his thoughts, and became quite apathetic. Of course, he didn't like seeing Innocents getting hurt when he could do something, but that was all.
He forced himself to put killing demons before saving people, although he would still do the latter when he finished. He forced himself to not show a lot of emotions, for they were a weakness that many used against him.
A beautiful weakness, but a weakness nonetheless.
Over those two months, Tanjiro mostly stayed in a clearing close to his cave, training until he coughed up blood and was paralyzed. It was yet another thing that he forced onto himself. To train until he couldn't anymore, and, even then, to push his limits.
This time he pushed himself too far. Tanjiro finished his training by falling unconscious a few meters away from his cave. Once he woke up it was already dark and he was disoriented, but he still knew where the cave was due to it giving off a small luminescent blue glow.
It was an unnatural occurrence, but Tanjiro didn't realize it until it was too late.
More precisely, until he fell into the crack by the side of the cave entrance that was one of the sources of the light and fell asleep inside of it.
Waking up for the second time, Tanjiro found himself inside a small cave with blue flowers everywhere. Looking closer, he realized that those were blue spider lilies. The flowers were also luminescent.
He sat in that cave for a few minutes, trying to remember what happened. He recalled passing out after training, waking up when it was dark and seeing his cave glow blue.
'Well, at least I know why it was glowing.' he thought to himself, getting up and almost banging his head on the ceiling. There wasn't very much space, so it was easy for Tanjiro to climb out through the same crack that he fell in through. He knew that he had to cover the entrance to the flower-filled cave, so he did just that - grabbed a few big rocks and placed them over the crack.
He sighed. Now, he had to get even stronger, even faster, since Muzan was searching for the blue spider lily. He knew that only because some cocky demons let it slip during a fight.
But, Tanjiro knew that he still had some time left. Not too much, but not less than a few months. Still, he would push himself even further. He had to protect the lilies, and that was why he made himself a different training plan. With that also came an emotionless mask and a new quest, but not too different.
He spent another four months training and it came to a point where he was sure that he could grab a bouquet of the blue spider lilies and parade around Muzan's house, but he limited himself to only one flower that was placed on his hair.
But, it wouldn't make sense for the lily to act as a normal flower, now would it?
So, around a week after the lily was placed on top of his ponytail, it embedded itself there, making it impossible to take out. Then, another week later, Tanjiro's hair grew longer and brighter, eventually turning warm, flame-like and bright at the ends, which reached his waist while forever in a high ponytail.
Not that Tanjiro was complaining, the flower also extended his mark and made his eyes a slightly luminescent red in exchange for extending his senses, by a lot. He also noticed his left ear getting pointy and glass-like the more he used the See-through World. That, and his sword was changing.
Now, it was fully black with a crack-like line on both sides which was the colors of fire, but dull. Whenever he used a breathing technique, the cracks glowed and became more visible, changing color according to the breathing that he was using, although only the half closest to the tip.
While all of that was happening with Tanjiro, Nezuko finally gathered the courage to check her brother's papers and diary after another month of thought. She decided to bring it all to the next meeting, which was in a week.
