WARNING: SLIGHT SUGGESTIVE THEMES, BULLYING, MIGHT CONTAIN SENSITIVE TOPICS.
The day ahead of her felt grim.
For one reason or another, it was on a constant loop, that alarming feeling swirling inside her stomach, the students around her snickering in mislaid leisure, the four-walled classroom seeming all the more suffocating, entrapping her in horrible recollections, moments when her bully had something bitter reserved for her. Like the calm before the storm, that's how she can picture it. Her heart was pounding even though there was nothing harmful within her radius.
But she can never be sure if the hurricane will proceed or diffuse.
The uncertainty is what's making her semi-crazy, driving herself mad by assuming each minor thing to be a cue for disaster, for threats of humiliation. Normally, she disliked class hours, but right now she yearns for it to never end so that her tormentor won't get a chance to encounter her. Drag her through misery.
However, the bell still rang.
Her breath got caught in her throat. In the morning, Katsuki was strangely quiet, when she was anticipating an irate response to her meek presence and that just sealed her fate, made her think he was planning something else. She wouldn't be able to predict.
She gazes at the blonde in front of her, mindlessly admiring his hair, he hadn't gotten up, remained still, and students passed by them. The quiet atmosphere before the break was tarnished, making it all the more surreal, chatters and names sounding out boisterously in the room, and it provided her with the same feeling when she had her physical fitness test days back. Something was bound to happen.
Moments like these are exactly why she despises coming to school nowadays. She carried on her scribbling, excluding the faint shadows looming before her. It was his friends.
"Hey, loopy whatcha doing?" One of the two smugly asked, peering down at her notebook, which she possessively held onto, protecting it from being snatched away. Looking up with bright eyes, replying, "Oh, you wouldn't understand." She concluded, brushing off their baffled expressions.
"Well, we were hoping to have some fun today, wanna join us?"
Her heart skipped a beat, blinking back the sudden tears as her fears were indirectly confirmed, he had something hidden in plain sight, she answered, "No, I'm good, thanks for the offer."
They both shared a look, smirking to themselves, shrugging her off, and departing without a message. She watched them leave, that unnerving sentiment increasing tenfold. She stared at the blonde male, pressing her lips together and sowing an anxious expression on her face. She breathes out a sigh, swallowing one gulp and putting her nagging worries to the far side.
Thought, she would be able to overcome this. Like everything else.
