The team walked over the table with the box sitting out. They all agreed that this would be the best place to start. Beside it was a blue sticky note with a message written on it. Matthias picked it up and read it.

"This is the more prominent evidence that I could find. I hope it serves you well. Signed D," he read to the rest of the team. "I guess Deb wants us to look through this stuff."

"I guess," Elyzabeth commented as she pulled out a chair from the table and took a seat. Sam sat the camera down at the end of the table. Before the team really got started looking through the evidence that Deborah put in the box, Matthias looked between his team.

"Before we begin digging through that," Matt started as he gestured to the box. "I want to know, what happened after, you know, Nelson got a hold of me? What happened to the S.P.I.R.E? Did you shut it down?"

"No," Woods exhaled deeply as he rested his head on his fist. "We found the S.P.I.R.E. B27 and you-- well Syphus, weren't there yet. We found an underground tunnel next to it, but when I went down, I was met with a door with a security code on it."

"A security code?" Matthias further asked.

"We tried all of the number combinations we knew, but nothing worked. 863, 590, 015, etc. Nothing," Samantha informed.

"We assume that beyond the door is the control room for the S.P.I.R.E," Bailey told Matt.

"You--er Nelson and B27 arrived not long later. Obviously, the entire valley isn't being mind controlled, we can assume that Syphus doesn't know the code either. So, now it's a race to see who finds the code first," Woods continued to explain.

"And what about her?" Matt motioned towards Elyzabeth. The new recruit wasn't paying that close of attention to the conversation, but was rather more focused on the box in front of her.

"Right, yes. We haven't met. I'm Elyzabeth Adams. Studying in communications at the University of California in LA," the girl told the CEO as she turned her attention towards the conversation at hand. "I won a challenge on discord when the team was looking for someone to help out. I was one of the first to come up with a code for a missing piece of the puzzle."

"Sam made a new discord server and together we're slowly regaining Subject 4's trust. You know, since the whole Double X thing, people aren't seemingly as trusting as they once were," Woods said. "We reached out to Subject 4, and we chose our candidate to help us based off of the knowledge that they had of the journey so far and the first ones that had correct theories on several other objectives. Thus, we chose Elyzabeth."

"There was a safe that we found in a tunnel in the wall when you were under Syphus' control," Sam continued. "When you- well Syphus entered in a code and opened it, none of us knew what it was. Elyzabeth is the one that helped us solve that."

"So then, what is Double X?" Matthias asked. He genuinely sounded confused. The rest of the team looked between each other before they turned back to Matthias.

"Matt, what's the last thing you remember?" Sam cautiously asked.

"Well, I guess the serum bomb in the back of the U-Haul truck. Just about reach to go off," Matthias replied.

"And everything else in between?" Bailey piped up.

"Gone. It just doesn't exist," Matthias told her.

"So, Double X is a phantom, like B27," Sam began. "Except, this phantom was you. You were Double X."

"Except it was Syphus, not you," Woods corrected.
