y/n's pov:

it was finally the day of the provisional licensing exams. this wouldn't be too difficult of a day for me in particular, but it was a big day for everyone else. because of allmight's down rank, the exam had to be modified in order to fill in the gap allmight's absence would leave behind. instead of the passing rates being 50%, they are now 10. which puts a lot on everyone, even the other schools.

as we got ready to leave for the Takoba National Stadium, i flashed midoriya a reassuring smile, hoping he'd get the hint that he'll be okay. eventually we got into the buses and left. the tension in the bus was definitely high.

when we got there, we were greeted with shiketsu high and our class realized just how hard this was going to be for them. along with the decreased chances of passing, the other students know their quirks from the sports festival, and are going against them.

as everyone split up, i stuck with aizawa. i may look like a student to everyone else but i definitely did not belong here. we went to the stands while instructions for the first part of the test were announced. even if i wasn't in the test, it wasn't exactly the most pleasant time for me either. ms. joke wouldn't leave aizawa alone and since i couldn't really leave his side to do anything else, i had to listen to all of it.

i sat there in silence with my eye twitching. after a few minutes i tried to make myself more noticeable in the situation, hopefully making her uncomfortable about flirting around a student by looking at her with an exaggerated disgusted expression every time she made an inappropriate comment or joke. eventually i gave up and just tuned her out.

i found myself lost in thought for a while, but when the first part of the exam ended, i came back to reality.  i turned to aizawa with a playful look on my face. "do you think anyone will fail this next part of the exam?" i asked him.

"well considering this part of the exam is heavily influenced on evacuation and rescue, bakugou may not do well there. as for the rest of the students with egos, i can see a couple of them clashing with the other students from other schools and missing out on the actual exam." he speculated.

"wow- interesting input." i replied trying to hide the fact that i was shocked by how on point he was.

he gave me a small side glance and we resumed watching the exams. it played out exactly how it did in the anime, but it was even better. because while i knew everything that was happening with everyone, now i could focus more or less on anyone whenever i wanted.

then i remembered that they were all  having a break since the first part of the exam was over. i thought maybe i should go see them. i looked over at aizawa again. "i'm gonna go talk to some of the class before the next part of the exam starts. some of them might need a pep talk." i said. he looked at me and nodded, telling me that he was good with that.

so i made my way down to where everyone was and came across bakugou first. he wasn't facing me so i ran up to him from behind and grabbed his shoulders. "don't hit me! it's just me!" i said as i made contact, suddenly remembering how on edge he probably is. at first he tensed up as if he was gonna react but when he realized it was me he relaxed.

i let go of him and he turned around. "the hell are you doing down here? you should be with aizawa." he said.

"i thought i'd come down to check on everybody. how are you feeling? are you ready for the last chunk of the exam?" i asked

"i was born ready, loser. i don't need checking on." he said, crossing his arms.

"maybe not but-" i stopped my sentence as i saw Camie come into view.
