I am NOT okay
I watched Felix and Chloe go to Miss Mendalaiv's class while I was stuck with the akuma class (Kim, Adrien, Lyla, Alya and Max).
Lucky me! (Note the sarcasm)
I entered the next class and avoided all the cold glares sent my way. I wonder what she told them this time. I sat silently in the back and waited for the teacher to arrive. "Marinette, what are you doing after school?" Alya asked stupidly. I really wanted to reply with a snarky comment but I just sucked it up and replied a little too harshly, "Nothing that concerns you!"
"I need you to babysit my sisters so Nino and I can hang out today!" I rolled my eyes at her. "And why should I do that? You've made it very clear to I'm not your friend anymore. Why don't you just ask Lyla to do it? She's the perfect bff " I fired back and she flinched at the harshness in my voice. "We would still BE friends if you would just apologized to Lyla and stop bullying her!" She yelled and some of them agreed with her.
"No! We would still be friends if you guys didn't choose a bloody lair over your best friend. You want to be a reporter but can't even fact check. You are nothing but a freaking tabloid writer and a shitty person, Alya!" Alya was red by the time I was done yelling and looked like she was out for blood. Everyone in the class were staring at me in shock. Probably cos I've never lost my shit before. I tried to calm myself down until Lyla burst into tears. "It's all my fault you guys, don't blame her Alya. She's just upset that no one wants to be her friend anymore and now she's taking it out on me!" She cried while some students from the other classes just sent her disgusted looks.
The akuma class except Adrien were busy comforting Lyla. Honestly, the way she cried really got on my nerves. "Would you stop being such a cry baby!" A boy yelled. Alya simply glared at him while Aurore glared back making Alya cower in fear. Thankfully, the teacher came in and started the lesson.
Time skip
Lunch, finally!
I tried so hard to stop myself from slamming my head into the wall repeatedly with the amount of lies lie-la was telling the class. And being the oblivious sheep that they were, they fell for it.
For the first time in a while, I didn't feel like eating lunch alone so i searched for Felix or Chloe. "Hey, Mari, can I talk to you?" Chloe asked as she ran up to me, earning a bunch of disapproving looks from the akuma class. "I thought only her friends were allowed to call her Mari?" Rose asked Juleka who were sitting with Lyla and her sheep. "Since when did she and Chloe become friends?" Alya said sounding slightly hurt. I just rolled my eyes at them and replied, "sure, Chlo!" She smiled and practically dragged me to the library talking about anything and everything. I finally saw Felix talking with someone in hushed tones. I couldn't see the person's face but I'd recognize that head of blonde hair anywhere.
"Hey, Marinette." He muttered shyly but I just simply ignored him. I turned to Chloe to explain why she brought me herebut she just smiled sheepishly at me before sitting next to Adrien. With a huff, I sat next to Felix impatiently waiting for an explanation. After five minutes of uncomfortable silence, Adrien finally spoke up. "I'm sorry." He muttered not being able to look me in the eye. "I'm sorry I couldn't take your side. I'm sorry I couldn't protect you from Lyla and her lies and I'm sorry I told you to take the high road. I was forced to." He said almost bursting into tears. Forced? By who? Felix reached for my hand and squeezed it making me blush slightly .
Not the time Marinette!
"Lyla threatened me. Said she'd ruin my life and get my father to let me continue homeschooling. I didn't want to so I just played her little game and I'm so sorry." By the time he was done, I was close to tears. I released Felix's hand to hug Adrien. "Alright, enough with the water works!" Felix grumbled. "Somebody's jealous." Chloe teased and Felix blushed. "Oh my goodness, did mr. Grumpy pants just blush. It's the end of the world!" Adrien gasped dramatically making the librarian shoot us warning looks. Chloe and Adrien silently cackled while Felix just looked like he was ready to strangle someone.
"Enough with the Tomfoolery!" Felix hissed. "We called you guys here because we have a plan to take Lie-la down." "Then make it quick we only have fifteen minutes left and I'm still hungry." Chloe whined and I agreed with her. "Well, I would have said it if you didn't keep interrupting me! Anyway like I was saying, what if you DID take the high road?" I was about to snap at him but Adrien stopped me. "What if you just pretended to be trying to be her friend and then used her lies against her. Then once we've gathered enough evidence and gotten in contact with everyone she's ever lied about we'll expose her for the fraud that she is." I thought about it for a while. "How are we going to get enough evidence. Not to be rude or anything but our classmates are pretty dense." I deadpanned.
"Don't worry about that. I have an inside woman to help us". Chloe said with a dangerous smirk. Felix briefed us on how we were going to carry out our plan when the ground started shaking then someone burst into the library screaming, "akuma!" Felix quickly grabbed my arm and dragged me to hide under a table with Chloe and Adrien.
I need a distraction and Felix refused to let go of me. I would've thought it was cute if not for the situation we were in. Suddenly, a woman in a bright pink leotard came in and started turning everyone in sight into her mindless zombies. "We have to split up. We can't all get under her control and one of us needs to get get help." Adrien suggested and Felix and Chloe agreed. Thank God.
I quickly ran to the romance section,and transformed. Since the others knew where i was hiding, i had to use the horse miraculous to teleport myself to the girls bathroom where I found Alya hiding. "OMG, Ladybug! Can I get a quick interview for the lady blog ?" She rushed out excitedly. "Not now I'm busy!" I hissed at her before running out of the bathroom and bumping into Cat Noir.
Time skip to after the battle. I suck at writing these things. Sigh
"Pound it!". I quickly detransformed when no one was around and quickly ran back to the library. "Where were you?" Felix said appearing from no where. "I.... was looking for a way to find ladybug or Cat Noir." I lied. He looked at me like he didn't believe a word I was saying but let it go anyway. "Where are the others?" I asked. "They went out looking for you. You know I don't believe you, right?". I sighed and nodded. "I just got a text from Chloe, she is asking if I've found you and that we should meet at your place to discuss the plan.". The school told us to take the rest of the day off, meaning that we could start the planning.
